Always Remember

Again.

Again this day is upon us.  For the fifteenth time since it happened.

How does this day make you feel?  Is it business/life as usual?  Is it harder each year to make time to remember and ponder how greatly our world changed on that day?

I find myself falling victim to time's treacherous attempts to make me forget... to dull the memory of what happened to our country on that day.

This is exactly why we must resolve to never, ever forget.  We have to do what we can to keep this memory alive and burning inside of us.

Nations do not endure just because.  They endure because their people endure.  And people only endure when they face challenges and meet enemies head on.

My son and a great many of my friends went to war over this.  Your son or daughter, or relative or friend, may have also.  Today, we not only remember those who were brutally murdered on this day in 2001; we must also and always remember all of those who have fought so hard to punish this enemy and prevent another attack.

Who will rise up for me against the wicked?
Who will take a stand for me against evildoers?
Unless the Lord had given me help,
I would soon have dwelt in the silence of death.
When I said, “My foot is slipping,”
your unfailing love, Lord, supported me.
When anxiety was great within me,
    your consolation brought me joy.

                                 --Psalm 94: 16-19

God bless America.

Semper Fidelis.
