Stealing Honor

-
I like to use that phrase whenever I see the deranged far left using our fallen warriors to further their idiotic ideas. They are, in essence, stealing the honor of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. Just look at poor Casey Sheehan. Does anyone really think that brave soldier- who reenlisted and volunteered for the dangerous mission that killed him- would have wanted his service to be remembered as it now is- with his unhinged mother saying that his country is "not worth fighting and dying for"??

Anyway, here's a good piece by Ruth Ann Dailey that reminds us of some important historical concepts and facts.

[[ This is a very different war. The numbers are much different too. Since March 2003, only 1,974 Americans have died in a war to liberate a country of 26 million people and rearrange the ideological map of the Middle East. On D-Day alone -- June 6, 1944 -- authorities estimate that somewhere between 1,465 and 4,900 American soldiers died in the Allied effort to liberate France, a country of 40 million people ]]

A mistake, some would argue, that we are still paying for today.

War Dead Are Not Supposed To Be Political Tools
