All Things Being Equal...

...this piece of evidence is more than enough to sway my vote.

carter Backs President Bush's Stance On Port Deal

Remember... this is the man who thinks all is good-to-go with Hamas winning the election... and that we should trust them and send them money.

Yeah... whichever way jimmah points- I'm running the opposite direction.

I live in Virginia Beach and just read today in the Virginian-Pilot that the several of the ports in Norfolk are foreign owned. One is Chinese and one is Saudi!

I think this is a huge wakeup call for most of us who never really thought about how the ports worked.

Hmmm ... while I can certainly understand the initial "Say WHAT?!?" reaction, on reflection I'm not sure that I see a problem here, in terms of security. After all, if you want to nuke New York City, you don't need to get to Times Square, the harbour will do just fine. You can carry enough chem or bio to cause thousands of casualties in an aerosol can. Firearms are readily available in-country, and explosives can be made from materials available at any hardware store using instructions downloaded from the internet. Any bad guys who can't get a passport can come in over the Mexican border. Even if the port authority was owned, controlled, and staffed entirely by terrorists, it wouldn't matter in any of the above cases. As odd as it seems, ol' Jimmah may actually be right on this one ...
