Once Upon A Time...

...twenty-five years ago today, to be exact...

A young man from a small town in Colorado stepped off of a bus at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, California and saw these:

...and then he saw this:

Even with that horror, the young man decided to stay around for a few decades.

Then, a few years after he had hung it up for good, he dusted off the old uniform and went to watch his son climb off of those same yellow footprints.

Crazy world, eh?
