We hate our celebrities, too... we just don't kill them.

I'm reminded of an old bit by the late Sam Kinison. When talking about wife-beating or kid-beating (I don't remember which), he said, "I don't condone ____ beating... I UNDERSTAND IT... but I don't condone it. I know what turns Mr. Hand into Mr. fist..."

Of course, we have "issues" with our celebrities for many other reasons... but again, we haven't started slaughtering them yet.
