Don't Mess With The Tribes

-
Well, it looks like the murderous scum in Iraq have a new enemy on their hands. The "enough is enough" mentality is a strong one- if rather delayed in coming. Honestly, I believe that more and more people world-wide are waking up to the islamofascists... it just takes a lot of time for some people.

Iraqi Tribes Strike Back

Probably the biggest surprise here is that the washington post saw fit to run this story. That seriously stunned me. Of course, they still call them "insurgents" instead of terrorists... even though the tribesmen they quote have no such problem in calling the scum what they are.

Hey, you should check out The Fourth Rail (billroggio.com). They've been talking about this for a while now, and it's an excellent site for keeping track of what's going on in that part of the world.

Not really, Gunny. When you look at the anti-American slant of the whole story, it gave them the perfect opportunity to once again trash our involvment there and call it a failure while at the same time avoiding accusations of anti-American bias.

Note that the tribes are getting involved not only for personal revenge, but to get the Americans to leave all the sooner (as the (com)Post takes great pains to point out). This probably is not so much the result of the tribes disagreeing with the Scummis, but rather the fact that the Teufelsdrachen went down there to Fallujah and kicked butt and took names (and continue to).

So, I'm not really sure how to read their tribal motives, here. My sense is that the tribes have finally wised up and realized that the only way they are going to get the Dawgs off their back is to help stomp the Scummi "insurgents." Like most traditional tribal groups, they look at the immediate effect only on the tribe, itself, and are not so much concerned with the (to them) very abstract idea of the "national good."

Still, at least their firing their rounds in the right direction for once.

Tsar, out.

Good point, Tsar... it was a good chance for the post to rack up some "bad America" points...

Guess I was stunned at the ostensible subject of the article.
