Well, even the magically wonderful barack hussein obama isn't immune to the death grip of the teacher's unions.

Apparently, he dared to hint that teachers should be competent and that rewards should be based on said competence. This never, ever goes over well with these people (just ask the Governator).

Still, obama did try to appease them by reminding them that he is against the evil practice of school vouchers and anything else the child-hating Conservatives support. You have to love how the dumocrats are so adept at pulling those puppet strings by invoking the evil right-wingers.
