Scalia Is THE MAN!

-
Common sense. That's all. Just common sense.

Scalia Defends Government's Right to Deny Art Funds

[[ "The First Amendment has not repealed the basic rule of life, that he who pays the piper calls the tune," Justice Scalia said. "When you place the government in charge of funding art, just as when you place the government in charge of providing education, somebody has to pick the content of what art is going to be funded, what subjects are going to be taught.

"The only way to eliminate any government choice on what art is worthwhile, what art isn't worthwhile, is to get the government totally out of the business of funding," he said.
]]

I guess that means he is not in favor of putting a crucifix in a jar of urine for public display...

...what a prude!

Tsar, I just don't understand why he didn't nominate Scalia. The only thing I can come up with was that by nominating Roberts, he has only 2 nominations to get past the dems instead of 3. What do you think?

Probably. Or perhaps he wants to do some "coalition building." Either way, he needs to start showing more strength in the face of Demo criticism. He has played the "nice guy" for too long; it's time for him to kick some butt.
