Okay, now somebody explain to me how ANY American can be happy to vote for people whom our enemies support???!!!! No, seriously... I really want to know.

Well, if you consider only the domestic situation, it probably actually is good for the country to have the executive and legislative branches controlled by different parties. Lord knoiws there's no shortage of folks in any western nation whose thinking stops at that point ... :-(
True enough... but these are historically troubled times, and there is much at stake. Playing politics with our national (and world) security is not a good thing for anyone.

Too true ... Unfortunately, if you admit that, you find yourself compelled to to vote for people who actually expect you to act like the grown-up you theoretically are. That's an awfully big hurdle for a lot of folks. I don't know what scares me more: the magnitude of the catastrophe it's going to take to bring them around, or the (over)reaction they're going to demand when they do see the light ... :-(
