The Cavalry Arrives

-
Finally, the good people could take no more. Finally visible is the outrage that has been burning in all of us since Cindy Sheehan and her traveling revue of anti-Americanism started their disgusting and treasonous spectacle in Crawford. It is unlikely that the old media will be able to ignore it this time. Oh, they'll try... but it is going to be very difficult.

[[ President Bush's supporters poured into Crawford Saturday by the thousands, for the first time outnumbering war protesters led by Cindy Sheehan, who began a vigil here three weeks ago, demanding a personal meeting with the vacationing president to talk about her son's death in Iraq.

An estimated 3,000 to 4,000 people attended a pro-Bush rally in Crawford, waving flags and pledging their allegiance to U.S. troops. At times, they accused Cindy Sheehan of dishonoring the war death of her own son, Casey, who was in the Army.

Jeannine McEwin, 69, said she and her husband, Harold, made the six-hour trip from their home on Toledo Bend Lake, a mile from the Louisiana border, to help conservatives overcome the dominance anti-war demonstrators have had here since Sheehan came to town on Aug. 6.

"The left has had so much publicity, and we have sat back and done nothing," McEwin said. "We have allowed them to take over." ]]

Better late than never... Damn, I wish I could have gone...

Wish I was there too. The media will try to ignore them and they're already trying to make them look bad. Just look at the coverage so far.

I'm going totally off topic here. Today is August 15 on the Serbian Orthodox liturgical calendar (Julian). It is one of our big feast days today, the Dormition of the Theotokos, or the repose of Mary, the God-Bearer. As such, my comments today will be limited to this one only. Since kmg wisely and kindly does not exercise a "separation of church and blog," I offer this prayer:

O steadfast protectress of Christians, constant advocate before the Creator: do not despise the cry of us sinners, but in your goodness come speedily to help us who call on you in faith; Hasten to hear our petition and to intercede for us, O Theotokos, for you always protect those who honor you.

V Bozi moja nadezhda, presvjataja Bohorodice.
"In God thou art my hope, O most holy Mother of God."

Pomoze Bog.
Tsar Lazar
