The Gov-i-nator Speaks

-
An honest reaction, I'm sure.

Arnold: I'd 'Kill' Anyone Who Took My Daughter For Abortion

He is, of course, referring to California's Proposition 73, an initiative that would make most abortions for minors illegal without prior notification of the girls' parents or guardians.

[[ "They call me when my daughter falls off the jungle gym in the school and they say, 'What do you want us to use? Can we put a Band-Aid on it? Do you want to come in? She's crying a little bit.'

"They call us about everything. I don't want them in that particular incident not to call us."
]]

Some additional perspective from a health care professional:

[[ "In California, a young girl under the age of 18 can't get a flu shot or an aspirin from the school nurse without a parent being notified," Paul Laubacher, a Sacramento nurse and the official ballot proponent of the Proposition 73 initiative, told the Bee. "But a doctor can perform an abortion without notifying a parent or guardian." ]]

Before we get too excited about Ahnold's statement... keep in mind that he is "not sure" if he will support the proposition... because he is already supporting four other ones- and this might "divert attention" from those. Talk is cheap, big guy. I guess we know where you stand and what your lack of full support for this means... it is the cowardly "moderate" argument: "I'm a social liberal and will not take a public stand against the horror of abortion- even though I personally am against it."

The problem with riding the fence is that you get lots of splinters in your butt...

Morality is black and white. If you feel strongly about something- like parental notification- as Ahnold says he does... then you have to stand up for it. Period.

I will give him a chance. I will not vote for him, though, if he rolls over on something as crucial as this.

SAJ:

"...Maybe we should just hand our babies over to the judiciary to be raised since they think they can do a better job than we can. ..."

Remember... it takes a village. That's not just a saying- they really believe that crap!
