Hmmm ... I'd certainly agree that this seems to be a petty and mean-spirited attack on something that no reasonable person ought to have a problem with. On the other hand, I have to wonder if, from a narrowly legalistic point of view, they might not have a valid point. Certainly I never saw such a portrait in any public school I ever attended or visited, though our laws (I'm Canadian) may be different from yours on the subject. Does anyone here know enough about the relevant law to address the issue?

I know that public school kids are being made to "be a muslim" in class... complete with recitation of muslim prayers/creeds.

There is much more than this going on... and the DFL is not only letting it happen (they control the schools, you know), they are HELPING it happen.
So, you will pardon most of us for not being too upset that a portrait of Jesus is hanging on a wall.
