This is one of the better recent columns by Victor Davis Hanson. In it, he explores the road taken by the modern West... and how that road is leading to destruction.

I will tell you that this man absolutely gets it. If you follow his writings, he tells what is happening with such understanding and such detail... it is amazing. He is a historian, and that serves him well as he looks-- from a big picture view-- at today's happenings.
