They Have Eyes...

-
...but they do not see.

In this story on how many people find God's hand at work in the aftermath of the hurricane, you can still find those who work on the side of evil.

[[ Churches in many states have taken in evacuees and organized aid for people who in many cases had lost everything. But at least some bristled at the role of religion in helping the afflicted.

"We're getting reports of how some religion-based 'aid' groups are trying to fly evangelists into the stricken areas and how U.S. Army chaplains are carrying bibles -- not food or water -- to 'comfort' people," Ellen Johnson, president of American Atheist, said in a statement.

"People need material aid, medical care and economic support -- not prayers and preaching." ]] (LINK to story)

Yep... prayers and preaching are now part of the problem. Notice how she says "aid" in quotes... you can almost see the snotty face and the fingers making air-quotes.

Dear Lord, help us deal with people like that...

"Dear Lord, help us deal with people like that..."

One WWII chaplain (Navy, I think) said it best:

"Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition..."

Indeed. When people choose to be far from God, the Truth is incomprehensible to them.
