Here We Go

-
The time we have been dreading is upon us... hollywood is going after September 11th.

We are about to be hit with "project" after "project" on the disaster. Someone has determined that five years is the magic number- and it's now okay to "stylize" the horror.

For the record, I am very much opposed to anyone profiting from this... especially this soon. I suppose, though, that the box office will tell the tale. If people want to see it, then they will see it.

Another worry of mine is in how it will be portrayed. In case you did not know, oliver stone is making a big budget movie about 9-11. Hmmmm... that should be very real and very patriotic, don't you think? Overall, I would trust a classroom of third graders to get the story right before I'd trust hollywood. If there is a chance to politicize it... if there is an opportunity to throw in some Bush-bashing... if there is a moment where they can publicize the plight of the misunderstood jihadis- does anyone doubt they will seize it?

For years now, the old media has hidden the horrible pictures and videos... because it is, to them, "insensitive" to make people so angry- which is the emotion most of us feel very deeply when we see those images. The truth is, the media's muslim overlords have pushed hard to keep those things repressed... because it is very, very bad PR for the religion of peace.

Anyway... here's a good column on the whole cinematic assault on September Eleventh.

Pomoze Bog.

Frankly, I think Stone will abandon the project when he realizes that there was no grassy knoll in the plaza around the Twin Towers. When are folks gonna realize that the era of the disater flick died with Irwin Allen???????

Oh, and I can't wait to see the character of the valiant young Arab male who helps save numerous lives at the cost of his own, as well as the white Conservative who pushes black folks out of the way in his rush to save his own skin, and the illegal immigrant who also performs heroic acts...et cetera, ad nauseum. You'll have to take a Protected Minority Stereotype Checklist with you to the theater so you can check 'em off as you go. Not to mention casting Alec Baldwin as Giuliani, and changing the Muslim terrorists to White Supremacists or Serbian Nationalists; and while they're at it, look for the myriad ways they will strive to draw sharp(and imaginary)lines between your average Muslim-in-the-Street practicing the Religion of Piece and the deviant Radicals who commandeer the planes.

Also, I'm taking bets over who will get the product placement spot for the box cutters---Stanley or Craftsman? Any takers???

Sheesh.

Tsar, out.
