Yep... completely sane. Nothing wrong with a little blood-lust... very normal conduct.
Just another way to practice one's religion (of peace). Kind of like the summer socials held by Presbyterians and Methodists everywhere.

Slightly OT, but here are Anne Coulter's comments on the anti-cartoon riots---they're definitely worth a read:
