Let's Dust Off...

-
...an oldie, but goodie:

-------------------------------------------------------

"A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship.”

The average age of the world’s great civilizations has been two hundred years. These nations have progressed through the following sequence:

from bondage to spiritual faith,

from spiritual faith to great courage,

from courage to liberty,

from liberty to abundance,

from abundance to selfishness,

from selfishness to complacency,

from complacency to apathy, from apathy to dependency,

from dependency back to bondage.

Ignorance with the caps lock on.

Drinking to excess,drugs, sexual perversion and promiscuity;
all will bring this country down.

There will be large scale armed conflict in the lower 48 before i die, and I'm going to be 60 years old in august,
so give it a few more years to get really bad.

we'll all be fishing,
not for fun,
in the rogue river here,
we will be fishing for our dinner,
hopefully a steelhead,
because the food distribution lines will have collapsed.

i like my steehead smoked using some alderwood, and there's plenty of that around here.
