Finally.

The Citizen's Report on Iraq is now ready for you to download and share. This is a VERY important document for Americans to get their hands on. Truth, people... truth is what we all need more of!

[[ WASHINGTON, Jan. 30 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- A new report on Iraq was
released today that covers many subjects not touched on by the Iraq Study
Group. Titled Citizens Report on Iraq: Attainable Victory vs. the
Propaganda of Defeat, the report was conceived, researched and authored by
independent citizens with experience in Iraq who are concerned that the
American people and politicians are ill-informed about the situation in
Iraq.

The 86-page report is available for download at the Free Republic website

In the Citizens Report on Iraq, readers will learn that progress is
being made in Iraq; there are large areas of Iraq that are safe and
prospering; that the enemy is being killed and wounded in astounding
proportion to American casualties; that the reporting on Iraq by the
dominant media is universally despised as inaccurate and misleading by
those fighting for Free Iraq -- Americans and Iraqis alike; that the
so-called antiwar movement, including the organizers of this past weekend's
protest in Washington, is led by terrorist supporting Marxists as part of a
global alliance seeking America's defeat in the Global War on Terror and
that a prominent White House correspondent has allied herself with one of
these groups.

The report includes frank interviews with dozens of Operation Iraqi
Freedom veterans, their families and several Gold Star parents. Those who
think their support for President Bush and victory in Iraq has waned will
be sorely disappointed.

The report also includes an overview of captured Saddam Hussein era
Iraqi government documents that demonstrate Saddam's commitment to
international terrorism and research in to Weapons of Mass Destruction,
including nuclear weapons.

Contributors include a history professor, an American contractor who
has spent the past three years in Iraq, an Iraqi living in Baghdad, and
numerous soldiers who spoke frankly on condition of anonymity.

The information in the report was gathered from original research and
interviews, publicly available government reports, blog entries, news
articles and transcripts.

    Frankly, I'm Offended

    -
This is a brilliant essay on a subject that we can all agree on... our country is in deep trouble due to our perverted sense of political correctness.

Everything is offensive to someone... and yet no one should ever be offended. It's like something out of a Lewis Carroll story.

Just to be clear: there is no such thing as Constitutional protection from offense.

    -
I say "invisible" because our intrepid media either cannot or will not see it.

Remember when we talked the other day about how President Bush's new "surge" plan may already be yielding results? Well, here is another very strong indicator that this is true.

[[ DEATH SQUAD leaders have fled Baghdad to evade capture or killing by American and Iraqi forces before the start of the troop “surge” and security crackdown in the capital.

Those Who Think Before They Speak...

    -
...just might see that things are not what they thought.

Here's an interesting article that looks at the planned "surge" in Iraq. Has it already produced some results- even before it happens?

    Maybe... actually, probably.

Jack Kelly lists three "interesting" things that are occuring in Iraq. Here is the first:

[[ Three interesting things have happened since President Bush announced plans to "surge" U.S. troops.

First, al Qaida appears to be retreating from Baghdad. A military intelligence officer has confirmed to Richard Miniter, editor of Pajamas Media, a report in the Iraqi newspaper al Sabah that Abu Ayyub al Masri, the head of al Qaida in Iraq, has ordered a withdrawal to Diyala province, north and east of Baghdad.

Mr. al Masri's evacuation order said that remaining in Baghdad is a no-win situation for al Qaida, because the Fallujah campaign demonstrating the Americans have learned how to prevail in house to house fighting, Mr. Miniter said.

"In more than 10 years of reading al Qaida intercepts, I've never seen (pessimistic) language like this," he quoted his intelligence officer source as saying.
    ]]

Now, please go and read the rest, so that you will have a better view of this extremely important issue. Okay? Okay... now go!

Is the Surge Already Producing Results?

    More Wow

    -
Here's an update to the outrageous tale of the anti-military company that we discussed the other day.

Turns out the owner of the company is a muslim.

Turns out his supporters are howling about the thousands of negative emails the company has received. After all, they say, what about this company's "free speech?"

Turns out they have a lousy sense of irony. As with all "offended" groups, they forget that the people writing the emails also have a right to "free speech."

    Check out this part:

[[ Anti-war and free speech advocates were equally offended, by the widespread criticism of the company and the individual who responded to the soldier.

"This is a matter of free speech," said Julie Enslow, an organizer with Peace Action Wisconsin in Milwaukee. "It is totally irresponsible for radio stations and bloggers to attack a person for his personal political views."

Othman Atta, president of the Islamic Society of Milwaukee, said he would fault the worker for his lack of tact but defended his right to speak his mind.

"If you look at the polls, his opinion is reflected by a majority of Americans now," Atta said. "In the United States, everyone one is free to speak their opinion."
    ]]

Everyone, it seems, except those who would not agree with this kindly and innocent muslim merchant.

Now, let's watch and see if they play the "islamophobia" card:

[[ Atta appeared concerned that the controversy might fuel anti-Muslim and anti-Middle Eastern sentiment.

"Some people will look for any excuse to target people from the Middle East," he said.
    ]]

Yes!! A perfect score! When justifiably called on their anti-military response to the soldier, they turn it into a political-correctness seminar!

Man, they're good. Disgusting, but good.

    Here's the whole thing:

[[ The footage is shocking: A man lies screaming on the floor of a police station as officers sodomize him with a wooden pole.

    Becoming Illegal

(From a Maryland resident to his senator)

    The Honorable Paul S. Sarbanes
    Senate Office Building
    309 Hart
    Washington DC, 20510

    Dear Senator Sarbanes,

As a native Marylander and excellent customer of the Internal Revenue
Service, I am writing to ask for your assistance. I have contacted the
Department of Homeland Security in an effort to determine the process
for becoming an illegal alien and they referred me to you.

My primary reason for wishing to change my status from U.S. Citizen to
illegal alien stems from the bill which was recently passed by the
Senate and for which you voted. If my understanding of this bill's
provisions is accurate, as an illegal alien who has been in the United States for
five years, all I need to do to become a citizen is to pay a $2,000 fine and
income taxes for three of the last five years. I know a good deal when
I see one and I am anxious to get the process started before everyone
    figures it out.

Simply put, those of us who have been here legally have had to pay taxes
every year so I'm excited about the prospect of avoiding two years of
taxes in return for paying a $2,000 fine. Is there any way that I can
apply to be illegal retroactively? This would yield an excellent result for me
and my family because we paid heavy taxes in 2004 and 2005.

Additionally, as an illegal alien I could begin using the local
emergency room as my primary health care provider. Once I have stopped
paying premiums for medical insurance, my accountant figures I could save
    almost $10,000 a year.

Another benefit in gaining illegal status would be that my daughter would receive preferential treatment relative to her law school applications, as well as "in-state" tuition rates for many colleges throughout the United States for my son.

Lastly, I understand that illegal status would relieve me of the burden
of renewing my driver's license and making those burdensome car
insurance premiums. This is very important to me given that I still have college
    age children driving my car.

If you would provide me with an outline of the process to become illegal
(retroactively if possible) and copies of the necessary forms, I would
be most appreciative. Thank you for your assistance.

    Your Loyal Constituent,

    Pete McGlaughlin

    -

    Hypocrites 'R' Them

    -
Wow... you can't make up stuff like this. They truly are a parody of themselves.

[[ On Dec. 5, Newsweek magazine touted an interview with then-incoming House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Rep. Silvestre Reyes as an "exclusive." And for good reason.

"In a surprise twist in the debate over Iraq," the story began, Mr. Reyes "said he wants to see an increase of 20,000 to 30,000 U.S. troops as part of a 'stepped up effort to dismantle the militias.' "

"We have to consider the need for additional troops to be in Iraq, to take out the militias and stabilize Iraq," the Texas Democrat said to the surprise of many, "I would say 20,000 to 30,000."

Then came President Bush's expected announcement last week, virtually matching Mr. Reyes' recommendation and argument word-for-word -- albeit the president proposed only 21,500 troops.

Wouldn't you know, hours after Mr. Bush announced his proposal, Mr. Reyes told the El Paso Times that such a troop buildup was unthinkable.

"We don't have the capability to escalate even to this minimum level," he said.

The chairman's "double-talk" did not go unnoticed. Among others, Rep. Joe Wilson, South Carolina Republican and a member of the House Armed Services Committee, says such blatant "hypocrisy" undermines both national security and the war on terrorism.

Make sure you read the whole thing... especially his infamous statement at the end.

    The Crocodiles Are Crying Again

    -
Okay, here is one sure to peg the old irony meter.

[[ The plot of the hit Fox drama “24” may make for exciting television, but Muslim groups fear their representation as terrorists does more than entertain - it vilifies an entire religious group.

“I think that TV has quite an effect on how people think,” said Nadeem Mazen, past president of the MIT Muslim Association. “So much of what we hear on Muslims is hearsay - an expert opinion by people with a personal agenda and not necessarily motivated by truth. And then a show like this comes along that perpetuates the ‘them’ factor.”
    ]]

(WARNING: there is plot information about the show at the following link's destination, so don't read it all if you haven't yet seen the season premiers.)

muslims Voice Concern Over Terrorism Portrayal On Fox's '24'

"Not necessarily motivated by truth." The "them factor." Hmmmmm...

    How about THIS?

Go ahead and try to count how many times the "holy men" in these clips use the words "they" and "them"... seriously, go ahead (also, don't even bother trying to count how many times they call for overthrow and violence).

Nadeem is partially correct... there certainly is a "them" factor-- but it is coming FROM the religion of peace, not at it.

HERE is a good post on the subject from LGF.

    -
I normally have nothing but contempt for flash-in-the-pan candidates like BHO and others who jump into presidential races based on nothing more than their current and fleeting popularity poll status.

This fellow here, though, is running on an issue that could well be the single most important one we are facing: illegal immigration. ...it could happen in today's world.

Obama Signs Up To Run For President

Let's talk a little about who he is and what he believes:

Full name: Barack Hussein Obama (That really is his middle name, by the way)

Experience: Two years as a U.S. Senator

Stance on war: Anti-war, typical liberal posturing on blood for oil, etc.

He also mouths many of the standard left-wing talking points-- "we're too dependent on foreign oil" (but they won't let us drill and refine our own here at home).

He is big on "gay rights" (whatever that really means).

He is a proud supporter of baby killing, like most dumocrats.

He wants taxpayers to pay for everyone's health care.

He wants more taxes for the "rich" (you know, that means those of us making over $40,000 per year).

His main qualification is that he gave a fiery speech at the dumocrat convention.

Oh, and of course, he is a lawyer... and we really need another one of those, don't we?

    SHOCKING!!!

    -
Dear Lord... you don't suppose those evil Bush tax cuts could have actually worked???

[[ The federal deficit has improved significantly in the first three months of the new budget year, helped by a continued surge in tax revenues. ]]

Yep, that's right. It says a "surge" in tax revenues... from corporations. You know, the rich ones that supposedly are paying less taxes because of Bush/Cheney/Halliburton.

Very hard for people to understand, I guess... but we'll try again. You see, when you cut our taxes, we have more of our money to spend... and tax revenue from all that goes back into the economy. Simple, right? Now, if those evil corporations kept all their money in big bags and just swam around in it all day like Scrooge McDuck, then I would agree with the liberal fools. The problem with their theory is, though, that the corporations DO NOT sit on their money... they REINVEST it.

Sorry for preaching to the choir... this is just one of those areas that are very frustrating to me. Tax cuts are NEVER a bad thing. NEVER.

Israel has successfully tested a weapon system that can track and destroy incoming RPG rounds. Having this in the Iraqi and Afghan theaters would absolutely save American lives.

The problem is, the Army won't even test field it. They say because it hasn't been tested enough (which appears to be false). Others say it is because they have contracted Raytheon to develop a similar system, and they fear that this one would scrap that plan.

This is a very big and very important issue. Our people are dying RFN from RPG attacks... and getting something-- ANYTHING-- in there to help with that is a must.

    aclu Vs. America... Again

    -
It's not enough that radical islam is trying to annihilate our society... we have our very own insurgents right here at home doing the same thing with different weapons.

It shall forever remain a mystery to me how our government lets an organization like the aclu continue to exist. They are hell-bent on destroying our country, and they are not even a little bit shy about it.

This one is a classic. The police pull-over a van of illegal immigrants and so the aclu is suing them for violating "civil rights" of people who have none. I should warn you that this one will make your blood pressure rise sharply.

[[ The Rhode Island Affiliate of the American Civil Liberties Union yesterday filed a federal lawsuit against the state police, alleging racial profiling and violation of the constitutional rights of 14 Guatemalan nationals during a July traffic stop that led to their detention by immigration officials. ]]

Get that? "Constitutional rights." Ummm... whose constitution? Surely not America's, right? I mean... they weren't Americans. They were criminals... right?

Here's a money quote from Steven Brown, the head communist at the Rhode Island aclu:

[[ “The citizenship status of the plaintiffs is really irrelevant to this lawsuit." ]]

Oh. I see. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

Here is more from this wonderful, patriotic American:

[[ Brown said, “To their credit, many police departments across the country have rejected the opportunity to enforce those laws for a number of reasons. I think first they recognize they don’t have the expertise with these laws … also, that doing so undermines trust in the communities that they serve. People in immigrant communities are going to think twice before they contact police if they’ve been victims of a crime, if they think they’ll be the ones who end up on trial.” ]]

    New Year, New Grind

    -
Greetings, everyone. I hope that you all had a great holiday season... I know I did. Family, friends, music, food, football... wow, we have many blessings in this world, don't we?

I was not able to comment on some big ticket news items while I was away... but I don't think my words were missed too much. I really (really!) appreciate my eldest daughter's able pinch-hitting. She is a very busy person and I know that any time she spent here took away from something else. Anyway, thanks a million, Sis!

I created this site on 28 July, 2005... and we are now at 1,070 postings. That is incredible to me. This started with my middle daughter and I deciding to try to put our voice out there to speak for what we know to be right... and now, it has become a part of my daily life. Crazy.

Having said that, I must follow it by announcing that I will be posting less in the coming months. I have started on a new book recently, and I am obsessed with it... and I absolutely need to spend every free minute I get (and those are mighty rare, let me tell you) on it. I am trying to write at least a chapter per week... and that is no easy task for someone with an insanely busy job and a big family life. Anyway, I will do what I can on this site- at least a couple of times per week... and I know that the Liberal Pounder will step in whenever she can (right, Sis?). I would also welcome any of our regular readers who wanted to send me something to post. You all know the flavor of our site... and it shouldn't be too hard to figure out what kind of stuff we like to post. Keep it in mind...

Okay, back to life now. Thank you a million times over for caring and being a part of our site. Those of you who read but never comment are also very valuable to me. Keep the emails coming and I'll write back when I can.
