Pure Torture

-
Here's Rich Lowry with a very, very good look at the reality of the Guantanamo Bay resort for murderous terrorists.

[[ To enter one of the heavily barricaded camps for detainees here feels like walking into a low-grade war zone. Which is what it is. The extremists held here haven’t given up their ideology, or their fight. The struggle to harm America in whatever way, no matter how minuscule, carries on.

In one camp, detainees were taking apart the push-button faucets in their cells to get at a metal spring that they would stretch out to use as a weapon. The Asian-style toilets on the floors of the cells used to have footrests, until detainees wrenched them from the floor to use as bludgeoning weapons. The guards are splashed routinely with urine and feces. The detainees have even been known to try to kick their soccer balls out of their recreation area into barbed wire, to cost the infidels the price of one ball.

The Road To Ruin

-
I am aware of how the democrat party fell into the abyss that it currently occupies... but I have never seen it broken down this well before.

If you've ever wanted to see the timeline and explanation of how this once-great party became the joke it now is, then you have to read this.

In this American Spectator piece, Jeffrey Lord takes us down the twisted path that brought us to today's party of defeat.

Deadly Serious Consequences

-
If the cowards regain the Congress this November, our country is in serious, serious trouble.

They are going to cut funding for the war and our military will be withdrawn in defeat- worse by a million miles than the ignominous defeat they sponsored in the Vietnam war.

Consider this:

[[ But when pressed on how he could stop the war even if Democrats control the House during the last years of President Bush’s second term, Rangel paused before saying, “You’ve got to be able to pay for the war, don’t you?”

Rangel’s views on funding the war are shared by many of his colleagues – especially within the 73-member Out of Iraq Caucus.

“Personally, I wouldn’t spend another dime [on the war,]” said Rep. Lynn Woolsey (D-Calif.).

Woolsey is among the Democrats in Congress who are hoping to control the power of the purse in 2007 to force an end to the war. Woolsey and some of her colleagues note that Congress helped force the end of Vietnam War by refusing to pay for it.

Having lost the last two elections in part because of national security issues, Democratic leaders have been reluctant to spell out their exact Iraq war funding strategy.

“I don’t think the Democratic leadership should put that out at the moment,” Woolsey said.
]]

Get that? The very person who admits that she would cut ALL spending for our troops then admits that they should hide that from the voters.

-
This was sent to me from the good folks at Boot Murtha dot com. If you can help, please do.

---------------------------------------------------------------

HELP US!

You’ve seen what we’ve done with $32,000. We’re putting on a rally that would cost five times that if we hired it to be put together by professionals. Our Johnstown volunteers--aided and abetted by webmaster, coordinator, and VVFT staff—have accomplished a miracle.

The Boot Murtha Rally is happening on Sunday!

What happens after the rally, however, depends on the mother’s milk of politics—MONEY! Murtha’s campaign has $3.5 million to spend. Our $32,000 is a pittance by comparison, but look what we’ve done with it!

Our website at www.bootmurtha.com is a marvel, and it is having a great effect on voters’ attitudes in Pennsylvania . That’s almost our only weapon at the moment, and we need to add others to our arsenal.

If we had $100,000, we could bounce Murtha’s rotund posterior all over his district. We KNOW what we have to buy—billboards, broadcast media, printed media—but we don’t have what it takes.

PLEASE, if you can afford it, help us! Except for two ladies working at below minimum wage in Murtha’s district, all of us are volunteers. You may donate by credit card or PayPal at the website here:

http://www.bootmurtha.com/Pages/Donate.htm ; or you may send a check to me at: Vets for the Truth, Box 291 ; Chocowinity , NC 27817 .

We WILL boot John Murtha!

Thank you!

Larry Bailey
President
Vets for the Truth

PS: Have you heard? Murtha’s rally on September 30th is bringing in a former US senator, Max Cleland, and a retired four-star Army general, Wesley Clark, to tell lies about Murtha’s love for his country and how he is being swiftboated by us unappreciative malcontents. And rumor has it that Murtha is bringing BUSLOADS of bought-and-paid-for supporters to Johnstown . We can counter this effort, but we need everyone to pitch in.

-

They Are Winning

-
It is a certainty that we are losing the cultural war with the islamofascists.

Our own champions of free speech, the great American liberals, have completely given in to "muslim sensitivities."

We tiptoe around everything so as not to offend or upset these maniacs. If someone says or does something that could be construed as "insensitive" or "offensive" to muslims, they are verbally flogged by all the good liberals (and, of course, threatened by all the good muslims). The islamofascists are nothing but schoolyard bullies with guns and bombs. They want nothing to do with "discussions" and "negotiations."

For decades now, liberals have mocked, bashed, assaulted, ridiculed, and offended Christians. They have done this with complete impunity. The aclu and other liberal groups have systematically attacked virtually every tenant of Christianity in our country. If any Christian attempts to stand up for our faith, the liberals shout "separation of church and state!" as loudly as they can... and, most of the time, we back down (for some reason that is alien to me).

Want an example? Here's a nice contrast of liberal reactions to the dreaded cartoons of blasphemy vs. the "piss Christ" and "elephant dung Virgin Mary."

No one- and I mean NO ONE- is allowed to make fun of muslims in any way, shape, or form.

Not car dealers...

Not play directors...

No one.

It remains, however, open season on Christians.

Could this be due to the fact that Christians do not threaten and then follow-through with violence and destruction at every offense?

Ummmm... yes. Yes, that is the one and only reason. In the end, the great liberal "free speechers" are nothing but hollow, yellow, stinking cowards without the courage of their "convictions." Meanwhile, our military is fighting and dying to protect those convictions for them-- even as the cowards work tirelessely to undermine that very mission.

I should stop now... I'm working myself into a frenzy, and I might start offending muslims and liberals if I don't quit. ...what's that? It's too late??

Oops.

Sorry...

(not)

-

Why Is This Significant?

-
Because it's further proof that the moonbats are dead wrong. Again.

There was much (MUCH) talk over how the London subway bombings happened because we were in Iraq... because we had stirred up muslim rage (yeah, that's hard to do).

Well, actually... it was planned by the same people who brought us 9/11. Yep. The same man, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed (KSM)- who has been singing like a canary, thanks to our "torture" tactics- told interrogators all about it.

This means that these angry muslim killers must have hated us BEFORE we went into Iraq!

But... but... I thought the Iraq war was the cause of terrorism...?

Anyway, HERE is the story.

He's Slick- I'll Give Him That

-
Here is a nice roundup of coverage on the bill clinton meltdown. I'll exerpt a bit from each- but that doesn't free you from your obligation to go and read each piece.

From William Kristol:

[[ LET'S DO A THOUGHT experiment: Perhaps Bill Clinton, an experienced and sophisticated politician, knew what he was doing when he made big news by "losing his temper" in his interview with Chris Wallace. Perhaps Clinton's aides knew what they were doing when they publicized the interview by providing their own transcript to a left-wing website as soon as possible Friday evening, and then pre-spun reporters late Friday and Saturday. Maybe it was just damage control. Or maybe Clinton did what he wanted to do when he indignantly defended himself, blasted the Bush administration, and attacked Fox News. What could Clinton have been seeking to accomplish? Three things. ]]

From John Burtis (who is becoming one of my favorites):

[[ Funny how the pundits are worrying about the damage that this sad, pathetic former commander-in-chief can cause his wife because he forgot to protect us all for a few years as he trotted the golf links, chased the golden tortoise, groveled with a nubile youth, visited Barbra in Santa Monica, and failed to make a decision about Mr. bin-Laden standing in the gun sights.

And we all watched the string of terror attacks mount up as he called it all a law enforcement problem while Mr. bin-Laden called it all war, and mailed his declaration to Mr. Clinton, who hemmed and hawed and ordered pizzas all around.
]]

From Ronald A. Cass:

[[ Former President Bill Clinton, never one to let truth stand in the way of a good line, has decided to reincarnate himself as our tough, anti-terror President. The man who ran away from military service and displayed striking contempt for our armed forces has now announced that he did more - and would do more - to combat Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda than anyone else. In his view, he should be recognized as the best man to fight that enemy. ]]

From Noel Sheppard (complete with a nice debunking of clinton's historical revisions):

[[ Last week, former president Bill Clinton took some time out of his busy dating schedule to have a not so friendly chat with Chris Wallace of Fox News Sunday. Given his rabidity, Mr. Clinton might consider taking a few milligrams of Valium the next time he allows himself to face “fair and balanced” questions, assuming once wasn’t enough that is.

This wasn’t Mr. Clinton’s finest hour. In fact, it could be by far the worst performance of his career, which is saying a lot given that his acting skills were typically much more apparent than his policy-making acumen when he was in office.
]]

From Lynn Woolley (who accurately points out the obvious fact that this was just another planned "performance" by slick willie):

[[ No president in the modern age has had to face an “insurgency” of relentless criticism from not one, but two former presidents—both dedicated to undermining his policies. Bill Clinton’s appearance on Fox News yesterday is a case in point, calculated to score points through attacks on the “right-wing conspiracy” and President Bush.

...

Wallace really wasn’t all that tough on Clinton, who, after all, could have gone on ABC’s “This Week” and been interviewed by George Stephanopoulos who used to be a top Clinton aide. But Clinton was spoiling for a fight, and to get it, he had to go on Fox.
]]

Now, from a CIA analyst who was personally involved in clinton's failures. (Please note that this CIA guy is no fan of George Bush, so he's definitely not a part of the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy (VRWC).

[[ On Monday's "Early Show", co-host Harry Smith talked with Scheuer about the war in Iraq and the hunt for Osama bin Laden. Smith was shocked when Scheuer laid the blame at the feet of the Clinton administration, and attempted to put the focus back on failures of the Bush Administration. Smith highlighted president Clinton's defense of his administration:

"Let's talk about what President Clinton had to say on Fox yesterday. He basically laid blame at the feet of the CIA and the FBI for not being able to certify or verify that Osama bin Laden was responsible for a number of different attacks. Does that ring true to you?"

Scheuer refuted Smith’s portrayal of Clinton:

"No, sir, I don't think so. The president seems to be able, the former president seems to be able to deny facts with impugnity. Bin Laden is alive today because Mr. Clinton, Mr. Sandy Berger, and Mr. Richard Clarke refused to kill him. That's the bottom line. And every time he says what he said to Chris Wallace on Fox, he defames the CIA especially, and the men and women who risk their lives to give his administration repeated chances to kill bin Laden."
]]

Finally, let's see what our current Secretary of State has to say (this is a MUST READ):

Condoleeza Responds

For my part, I just think it is amusing that he can display such "outrage" at Fox News and the VRWC, but I don't remember him showing any of that passion while the terrorists were attacking us all through the 90's. Can anyone recall clinton turning purple over osama?

I also don't remember him doing anything for the military- besides decimating our budget and setting our modernization back a decade.

Whatever anyone may think of President Bush, at least history will show him to have fought long and hard against terrorism. That is indisputable.

Mr. clinton, on the other hand, will always be remembered for things like Big Macs and blue dresses... oh, and also for battling against crazy "right-wingers."

Clifford May draws a nice comparison between the islamofascists and the mafia- at least as far as their willingness to negotiate goes.

[[ Many commentators are missing the point: These protesters — and those who incite them — are not asking for mutual respect and equality. They are not saying: “It’s wrong to speak ill of a religion.” They are saying: “It’s wrong to speak ill of our religion.” They are not standing up for a principle. They are laying down the law. They are making it as clear as they can that they will not tolerate “infidels” criticizing Muslims. They also are making it clear that infidels should expect criticism — and much worse — from Muslims.

They are attempting nothing less than the establishment of a new world order in which the supremacy of what they call the Nation of Islam is acknowledged, and “unbelievers” submit — or die. Call it an offer you can’t refuse.

Peace In Our Time?

-
The answer I have come up with might surprise you.

In spite of some very confused people insisting that islam is a "religion of peace," we know without doubt that this is not true. (By the way, exactly what is a "religion of peace?") Not only is islam preventing "world peace," it is not even at peace with itself.

In these very turbulent times, it is becoming obvious that islam is the pivotal piece of the "world peace" puzzle. If this peace is to ever come, the muslims will have to be a huge part of it- since they are the single greatest obstacle preventing it right now.

However, the arrogance of muslim leaders- for example, the Iranian madman- illustrates that islam plans to have things their way... no matter what it takes. Here is a recent comment from the lunatic:

Asked in an interview with Time magazine why Iran would not suspend (uranium) enrichment as a confidence-building measure, Ahmadinejad said: "Whose confidence should be built? The world? Who is the world? The United States? The U.S. administration is not the entire world. Europe does not account for one-twentieth of the entire world."

You see? They care not a whit what we think. It is a certainty that Iran, and many other islamic countries, are not going to play nicely with the rest of the world. In fact, they are the ones proclaiming this loud and clear.

And here, we see that they refuse to let anyone criticize them:

Call For Ban On "Defamation" Of islam

Then there is the issue of terrorism. The muslim world contends that talking about terrorism makes it worse. (I guess we should pretend it doesn't exist, like clinton did for eight years.) And even when one of our government officials does speak up loudly and strongly against terrorism, too many left-wing people drown out their voice and accuse them of "fear mongering" and "scare tactics."

Furthermore, we know that they will use any and all means to their ends- including using children as bombs.

So... what's a war-weary world to do? Well, I believe that there can be a completely peaceful islam, if we just give them what they want. I admit that it is a somewhat radical and complicated peace plan, but it is possible.

Seriously... perhaps we have come to the point that Deroy Murdock closes this excellent column with:

[[ Throwing olive branches at Islamofascists is beyond futile... ...we might as well cut our losses, hand out the Korans, and start the mass conversions. ]]

For my part here, I will avoid sarcasm and stick to listing only what we know to be the demands and preferences of muslims. Here, then, are the eleven steps to world peace:

1. The United States and all other non-muslim countries must completely evacuate the Middle East. This will include, unfortunately, abandoning all support for Israel. We must roll-up all our toys and just go home.

2. Once back at home, all non-muslim countries must open their borders to any and all muslim immigrants. This must be followed by nullifying any and all "man-made" laws and governments (especially Democracy) and adopting sharia law and clerical rule. Also, all sporting event watching must be severely curtailed and limited.

3. All non-muslims must either immediately convert to islam or pay the jizya tax... or, of course, they can always choose to die, instead.

4. All of the various muslim sects must resolve their differences immediately. Since the sunnis are by far the largest group, the logical resolution is for the other sects to switch to sunni islam- or, barring that, they can always die.

5. The Pope, the Archbishop of Canturbury, Billy Graham, and all other non-muslim religious leaders must convert to islam. If they choose not to, they must cease any and all preaching or spreading of their faith- or, barring that, they, too, can always die (perhaps even by crucifixion, thanks to helpful muslim "clerics").

6. All women worldwide must immediately don a burqa. Then, the women must quit school, if they are a student. The next step is for the women to stop seeing their boyfriends/fiances and marry a muslim male. This will help them learn the next step, which is for them to stop talking and acting as if they matter. Oh, and they must be very, very careful when thinking about participating in sporting events. Finally, when raped, women must take great care to have four male witnesses to the crime, or they will be prosecuted and stoned to death for adultery.

7. All gay people must immediately stop being gay, or die. By the way, this applies to bestiality, too... remember, only female animals.

8. All entertainment industry people must immediately stop performing their craft (especially artists/cartoonists), or die.

9. All television and radio outlets must limit their broadcasts to clerically approved "news" and religious (islamic, of course) programming.

10. All pigs must immediately stop being food and toys and decorations.

Last, but certainly not least:

11. All Jews must die.

Well, there you have it. The only real roadmap to peace. All we have to do is come to terms with the fact that, if we want peace, we have to learn to live under muslim rule. Or, to restate the obvious, we can always die.

Of course, there are some- like a certain Mr. John Burtis- who feel that things have already swung that way...

[[ But for all too many of us - who sit painfully on the sidelines and watch every murder, beheading, cry for more deaths, public stonings, shooting of a nun in the back, arson of a synagogue, fresh demands for the destruction of Israel, the accelerated proliferation of nuclear weapons among the insane, the idolatry of the Islamist visions of Jimmy Carter by the lunatics on the left, the granting of greater rights to the terrorists by our Supreme Court than the Geneva Convention grants these violent bandits, fatwas for the murder of the Pope, the gleeful preaching of genocide by Mr. Ahmadinejad, the latest abject failure of the execrable UN to enforce any written element of resolution 1701 -- it is utterly astounding to finally realize that we are already living under Muslim law. ]]

Come to think of it, I must say that I, for one, do NOT welcome our new muslim overlords.

And you? Are you ready to give them what they want in order to have "world peace?"

If not, you had better saddle up... because they are coming to take it.

Our Own Fault?

Here is a great column from Jonah Goldberg that suggests we are largely to blame for the increasing intensity of the islamofascists. Hard to argue with his logic...

[[ No, this is about us. The best book for illuminating what's going on in the Muslim "street" isn't some weighty treatise on Islam; it's a short little tract called "White Guilt" by Shelby Steele. The book isn't even about Islam. Steele focuses on white liberals and the black radicals who've been gaming them ever since the 1960s. Whites, he argues, have internalized their own demonization. Deep down they fear that maybe they are imperialistic, racist bastards, and they are desperate to prove otherwise. In America, black radicals figured this out a while ago and have been dunning liberal whites ever since.

The West is caught in a similarly dysfunctional cycle of extortion and intimidation with Islam, but on a grander and far more violent scale. Whether it's the pope's comments or some Danish cartoons, self-appointed spokesmen for the Islamic street say, "You have offended a billion Muslims," which really means, "There are so many of us, you should watch out." And if you didn't get the message, just look around for the burning embassies and murdered infidels. They're not hard to find.

In response, the West apologizes and apologizes. Radical Muslims, who are not stupid, take note and become emboldened by these displays of weakness and capitulation. And the next time, they demand two pounds of flesh. Meanwhile, the entire global conversation starts from the assumption that the West is doing something wrong by tolerating freedom of speech, among other things.

This week, French President Jacques Chirac explained that everyone in the West must avoid everything that sparks tensions. In other words, we must forever be held hostage by the tactical outrage of a global mob. There's nothing funny about that.

Remember back before the U.S. invaded Iraq...? Back when the Middle East was a peaceful region- enjoying equal rights for all and perfect harmony for all mankind?

What...? You don't remember it that way?? But... kofi annan and the Iranians said it was that way, and that we messed it all up.

Here's a great piece in the American Spectator that takes us on a walk down memory lane:

[[ When I heard that UN Secretary General Kofi Annan complained that the United States had messed things up in the Middle East, specifically echoing Middle Eastern leaders who told him that the U.S. invasion of Iraq was a "real disaster" for the region, I got to wondering. High-Definition Contrast

-
The differences between Christianity and the cult of radical islam could not be made more clear than it is through the dying words of the murdered Catholic Nun:

[[ "I forgive, I forgive," she whispered in her native Italian just before she died, the Rev. Maloba Wesonga told The Associated Press at the nun's memorial mass in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, on Monday. ]]

Here are the words of the man who wrote "The Path To 9/11."

[[ My sin was to write a screenplay accurately depicting Bill Clinton's record on terrorism.

I am neither an activist, politician or partisan, nor an ideologue of any stripe. What I am is a writer who takes his job very seriously, as do most of my colleagues: Also, one who recently took on the most distressing and important story it will ever fall to me to tell. I considered it a privilege when asked to write the script for "The Path to 9/11." I felt duty-bound from the outset to focus on a single goal--to represent our recent pre-9/11 history as the evidence revealed it to be. The American people deserve to know that history: They have paid for it in blood. Like all Americans, I wish it were not so. I wish there were no terrorists. I wish there had been no 9/11. I wish we could squabble among ourselves in assured security. But wishes avail nothing.

What Does Sharia Mean To You?

-
It could mean that you will be killed by stoning or beheading... or you could escape with just your hands cut off or a brutal flogging.

It's like a grab bag of vicious and arbitrary violent punishments!

Here's a very good look at muslim sharia law in The American Thinker.

[[ Steal a loaf of bread and one or both of your upper extremities will be hacked off at the wrist. Get caught holding hands with your same-sex fiancé and the only thing the two of you will ever share again is a slow, painful, death. Are you a married woman who’s just suffered the brutality of gang-rape? Well, you’ll find either four males your attackers were stupid enough to allow to bear witness to the crime, or find yourself guilty of adultery—a fate far worse than anything you suffered during the actual assault. Adulterers, and others deemed accountable for acts “incompatible with chastity,” are wrapped head-to-toe mummy style, buried in sand up to their chests, and slowly and brutally stoned to death by their neighbors.

Welcome to the merciless world of Islamic Sharia Law, where religious “scholars” sit as judges and juries. This medieval system of “justice” oversees countless stonings (video), beheadings, crucifixions, and often-fatal floggings in Islamic theocracies each year. But the system is not confined to those lands only.

Outrage Alert

-
Okay, I'm giving the standard take-your-blood-pressure-meds warning before reading this one.

Everyone who goes to Gitmo comes back and says that it is absolutely nothing like the media portrayals-- that the detainees are treated very, very well.

Here is a column by a writer who just got back from a tour.

[[ The politically correct regulations are unbelievable. Detainees are entitled to a full eight hours sleep and can't be woken up for interrogations. They enjoy three meals and five prayers per day, without interruption. They are entitled to a minimum of two hours of outdoor recreation per day.

Interrogations are limited to four hours, usually running two - and (of course) are interrupted for prayers. One interrogator actually bakes cookies for detainees, while another serves them Subway or McDonald's sandwiches. Both are available on base. (Filet o' Fish is an al Qaeda favorite.)

[[ ISLAMIST terror is a deadly threat we have barely begun to address. Yet religion-fueled fanaticism in the Middle East shouldn't surprise us: The tradition pre-dates the Prophet's birth by thousands of years.

Terrorists just have better tools these days.

What should amaze us isn't the terrorists' strength, which has limits, but the comprehensive failure of Middle Eastern civilization. Given all the wealth that's poured into the region, its vast human resources and all of its opportunities for change, the mess the Middle East has made of itself is stunning.

Beyond Israel, the region hasn't produced a single first-rate government, army, economy, university or industry. It hasn't even produced convincing second-raters.

Irony Maelstrom

-
Remember all the fuss over the dreaded cartoons of blasphemy?

It produced slogans and cries that anyone who insulted islam by calling it violent should be beheaded.

Then we had the British muslims saying that calling muslims terrorists would make all the moderate muslims turn into terrorists.

If it weren't so serious and critical to world peace, it would be hysterically funny. It is very much like a Monty Python skit. The only thing muslims are better at than anger and outrage is unintentional irony.

Now, the Pope is in trouble with the religion of peace.

Here's the deliciously ironic quote of the day from this article:

[[ "Anyone who describes Islam as a religion as intolerant encourages violence," Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Tasnim Aslam said. ]]

Oh, that one is a keeper!

I would like to start an "Irony Watch." Anyone who finds some good ones, please send them to me and I'll gather and post them.

Want a fun exercise? Go to Google or Yahoo news search and type in "muslim anger" or "muslim outrage" or "muslim offended" or something like that. What you will get is hundreds of articles on their seething and anger. In fact, just type in "muslim" and you will get the same thing.

Now, type in "Christian anger" or "Christian outrage" and you will get hundreds of articles on... muslim anger! But... if you just type in "Christian," you will not get any of that anger/outrage stuff. Well... in all fairness, there was one article involving revenge and warriors that came up on the "Christian" search: "Hamilton Christian (3-0) piled up 430 yards rushing as the Warriors got revenge for their first varsity loss in school history with a 48-7 rout of St. Mary on Thursday night at Cougar Stadium."

Apparently, All Is NOT Fair In War......

-
Here is one giant reason that our current war is taking so long. Furthermore, there is no doubt in my military mind that if we stopped crap like this, we would have even less casualties than the very low number we do have.

Consider this:

[[ The U.S. military said Wednesday it is looking into the unauthorized release of a photo purportedly taken by an American drone aircraft showing scores of Taliban militants at a funeral in Afghanistan.

NBC-TV claimed U.S. Army officers wanted to attack the ceremony with missiles carried by the Predator drone, but were prevented under rules of battlefield engagement that bar attacks on cemeteries.
]]

The focus of this idiotic AP story is how the video's release was "unauthorized," but that is not the real story here.

Here's my headline for this story:

190 Taliban Fighters Identified And Accessible, But Rules Prevent Attack

Disgusting... straight up disgusting.

How many American troops will be killed by any one of those terrorists at some point in the future? We have no way of knowing. I will say this much, though: it is completely undeniable that if we had taken the evil bastards out, the answer would be ZERO American troops killed by them!!

HERE is a much better article on it.

"This is hard to say and I haven't found a way to say it that doesn't sound crass, but it is the truth that those {attacks before Sept. 11} were happening overseas and while there were Americans who died, there were not thousands and it did not happen on U. S. soil."

(Taken from HERE.)

-

History Is Negotiable??

-
I guess it is, judging by the way the liberals are responding to the ABC 9/11 docu-drama.

Honestly, I strongly believe that this is just another manifestation of their greatest fear: the American People. Time and time again, lliberals develop hives when any of their insane agendas are put to a vote... or when there is a risk of the people actually seeing what's behind their curtain.

Besides infuriating, it is also very educational to witness the tantrum they are throwing about this mini-series. To anyone paying attention, they are in total and complete opposition to their own war-cries of "First Ammendment" rights. They are, in fact, trying very hard to act as Big Brother.

Ministry Of Truth

Can we also discuss that it is extortionate and scandalous of a former President to behave thusly when confronted with someone trying to expose the mistakes made on his watch? Can we include talks about the "Marxist soul" that pervades many of these lefties? Yes... let's do.

Vicious, Unbridled Censorship

Finally, I must point out that- once and for all- "tolerance" and "free speech" are now officially anethema to the liberal movement in America. Oh, I know they always have been... but the lefties have long hidden behind those concepts and pretended that they cared about them. Not much chance of that anymore.

-

The Bad News Is...

-
...that this guy is right in much of what he is saying. The good news is, though, that I disagree with his basic premise that we cannot turn it around. Most everything he states can be countered... if we all wake up in time.

[[ So, why is it that leftists are so enamored with Canada’s system? Just because they are. It’s for the same reason they’re against capital punishment for serial killers, but for abortions on demand for 13-year-olds. It’s why they’re vehemently opposed to having “under God” in the Pledge of Allegiance, but they’re for handing out sex questionnaires to eight-year-old kids, and condoms to their slightly older brothers. It’s why they’re against locking up the borders to illegal aliens, but they’re for denying law- abiding citizens the right to own guns. Why? Why? Why? Because they’re nuts. Because they read from the playbook that’s been assembled by the likes of James Carville and Ted Kennedy, Chris Matthews and Barbara Boxer, George Soros and Jimmy Carter, John Kerry and Michael Moore. ]]

Remember, we have no plan in Iraq. We are just over there stumbling around to find oil for Halliburton. There is no plan to get our people out of there... ever. Right?

To The Woodshed...

-
...that is where White House Chief of Staff Josh Bolten took Harry Reid. This is a fantastic letter- and it should be splashed across every newspaper and television news outlet in the country. It should be... but we all know it won't be.

Anyway, courtesy of Drudge, here it is in its entirety. Please hold your applause until the end.

[[ Tue Sep 05 2006 19:28:01 ET

Dear Senator Reid:

Thank you for your September 4 letter to the President. I am responding on his behalf.

A useful discussion of what we need to do in Iraq requires an accurate and fair-minded description of our current policy: As the President has explained, our goal is an Iraq that can govern itself, defend itself, and sustain itself. In order to achieve this goal, we are pursuing a strategy along three main tracks -- political, economic, and security. Along each of these tracks, we are constantly adjusting our tactics to meet conditions on the ground. We have witnessed both successes and setbacks along the way, which is the story of every war that has been waged and won.

Your letter recites four elements of a proposed “new direction” in Iraq. Three of those elements reflect well-established Administration policy; the fourth is dangerously misguided.

First, you propose "transitioning the U.S. mission in Iraq to counter-terrorism, training, logistics and force protection." That is what we are now doing, and have been doing for several years. Our efforts to train the Iraqi Security Forces (ISF) have evolved and accelerated over the past three years. Our military has had substantial success in building the Iraqi Army -- and increasingly we have seen the Iraqi Army take the lead in fighting the enemies of a free Iraq. The Iraqi Security Forces still must rely on U.S. support, both in direct combat and especially in key combat support functions. But any fair-minded reading of the current situation must recognize that the ISF are unquestionably more capable and shouldering a greater portion of the burden than a year ago -- and because of the extraordinary efforts of the United States military, we expect they will become increasingly capable with each passing month. Your recommendation that we focus on counter-terrorism training and operations -- which is the most demanding task facing our troops -- tracks not only with our policy but also our understanding, as well as the understanding of al Qaeda and other terrorist organizations, that Iraq is a central front in the war against terror.

Second, your letter proposes "working with Iraqi leaders to disarm the militias and to develop a broad-based and sustainable political settlement, including amending the Constitution to achieve a fair sharing of power and resources." You are once again urging that the Bush Administration adopt an approach that has not only been embraced, but is now being executed. Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki is pursuing a national reconciliation project. It is an undertaking that (a) was devised by the Iraqis; (b) has the support of the United States, our coalition partners and the United Nations; and (c) is now being implemented. Further, in Iraq's political evolution, the Sunnis, who boycotted the first Iraq election, are now much more involved in the political process. Prime Minister Maliki is head of a free government that represents all communities in Iraq for the first time in that nation's history. It is in the context of this broad-based, unity government, and the lasting national compact that government is pursuing, that the Iraqis will consider what amendments might be required to the constitution that the Iraqi people adopted last year. On the matter of disarming militias: that is precisely what Prime Minister al-Maliki is working to do. Indeed, Coalition leaders are working with him and his ministers to devise and implement a program to disarm, demobilize, and reintegrate members of militias and other illegal armed groups.

Third, your letter calls for "convening an international conference and contact group to support a political settlement in Iraq, to preserve Iraq's sovereignty, and to revitalize the stalled economic reconstruction and rebuilding effort." The International Compact for Iraq, launched recently by the sovereign Iraqi government and the United Nations, is the best way to work with regional and international partners to make substantial economic progress in Iraq, help revitalize the economic reconstruction and rebuilding of that nation, and support a fair and just political settlement in Iraq -- all while preserving Iraqi sovereignty. This effort is well under way, it has momentum, and I urge you to support it.

Three of the key proposals found in your letter, then, are already reflected in current U.S. and Iraqi policy in the region.

On the fourth element of your proposed “new direction,” however, we do disagree strongly. Our strategy calls for redeploying troops from Iraq as conditions on the ground allow, when the Iraqi Security Forces are capable of defending their nation, and when our military commanders believe the time is right. Your proposal is driven by none of these factors; instead, it would have U.S. forces begin withdrawing from Iraq by the end of the year, without regard to the conditions on the ground. Because your letter lacks specifics, it is difficult to determine exactly what is contemplated by the “phased redeployment” you propose. (One such proposal, advanced by Representative Murtha, a signatory to your letter, suggested that U.S. forces should be redeployed as a “quick reaction force” to Okinawa, which is nearly 5,000 miles from Baghdad).

Regardless of the specifics you envision by “phased redeployment,” any premature withdrawal of U.S forces would have disastrous consequences for America’s security. Such a policy would embolden our terrorist enemies; betray the hopes of the Iraqi people; lead to a terrorist state in control of huge oil reserves; shatter the confidence our regional allies have in America; undermine the spread of democracy in the Middle East; and mean the sacrifices of American troops would have been in vain. This “new direction” would lead to a crippling defeat for America and a staggering victory for Islamic extremists. That is not a direction this President will follow. The President is being guided by a commitment to victory -- and that plan, in turn, is being driven by the counsel and recommendations of our military commanders in the region.

Finally, your letter calls for replacing Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld. We strongly disagree.

Secretary Rumsfeld is an honorable and able public servant. Under his leadership, the United States Armed Forces and our allies have overthrown two brutal tyrannies and liberated more than 50 million people. Al Qaeda has suffered tremendous blows. Secretary Rumsfeld has pursued vigorously the President’s vision for a transformed U.S. military. And he has played a lead role in forging and implementing many of the policies you now recommend in Iraq. Secretary Rumsfeld retains the full confidence of the President.

We appreciate your stated interest in working with the Administration on policies that honor the sacrifice of our troops and promote our national security, which we believe can be accomplished only through victory in this central front in the War on Terror.

Sincerely,

Joshua B. Bolten
Chief of Staff ]]

Freedom Is Not Free...

-
...or easy. The quest for it, though, is innate to our human souls. Whether or not you agree with President Bush on all of his policies (I certainly do not), you cannot argue that he is absolutely correct in saying that a stable democracy in Iraq would be a disaster to the evil jihadis.

The problem now is that our modern culture of immediate gratification is not able to comprehend or handle the concept of a true struggle. We want our wars wrapped up in fifteen minutes and we don't want to hear about any difficulties. Just go in there and impose democracy and let's get out. This is worsened by the media's efforts to discredit the President and help the liberals, who are chomping at the bit to surrender this war as soon as possible.

Why, we always hear, hasn't the perfect democracy yet been created in Iraq? Why, they whine, is there so much "sectarian" violence going on? If we are really making progress, they cry, why can't our military come home now?

Because, children, we have a very, very tough job to do... and we're not leaving until it's done. It will be done, so long as we decide- AS A NATION- that we will do it. That is the secret... because there is nothing that America cannot accomplish when it collectively wants to. If the liberals and the media would stop trying to tell us we can't do this and we can't do that... well, then, we could get on with the business at hand- and thereby hasten our people coming home for good.

Anyway, I found a great column on democracy's costs by Salim Mansur- here's part of it:

[[ Democracy never arrived anywhere impeccable and fully dressed. Not in ancient Greece, nor in modern Europe and North America.

Democracy is a tedious process, often flawed, requiring patient work for improvement and a lot of luck. Democracy is a journey, rarely a destination to step down and call it over.

It is a messy journey, frequently accompanied with disquiet, often beginning in quarrels amidst smoke and blood, and no one is ever content with the nature of the journey, the direction taken or the distance travelled.

But whatever the discontent, there is a near global consensus, today painfully reached, that despite democracy's flaws there is no better alternative.
]]

That is a fact. Here's the whole thing for you:

You know, I'm starting to understand why the left hates Mark Steyn so much... because he is DEAD ON about the issues of the day... and because he never minces words. Here's a good column on how the media- and the West in general- are seen as weaklings by the jihadis.

[[ Did you see that video of the two Fox journalists announcing they'd converted to Islam? The larger problem, it seems to me, is that much of the rest of the Western media have also converted to Islam, and there seems to be no way to get them to convert back to journalism.

...what's the big deal? Wear robes, change your name to Khaled, go on camera and drop Allah's name hither and yon: If that's your ticket out, seize it. Everyone'll know it's just a sham.

But that's not how the al-Jazeera audience sees it. If you're a Muslim, the video is anything but meaningless. Not even the dumbest jihadist believes these infidels are suddenly true believers. Rather, it confirms the central truth Osama and the mullahs have been peddling -- that the West is weak, that there's nothing -- no core, no bedrock -- nothing it's not willing to trade.

...

It doesn't matter how "understandable" Centanni and Wiig's actions are to us, what the target audience understands is quite different: that there is nothing we're willing to die for. And, to the Islamist mind, a society with nothing to die for is already dead.

Yeah... that's a scary, but accurate, thought. Here's the whole thing:

Watch Out, Mickey And Donald!

-
Saw this one on Little Green Footballs.

As cute and funny as this is... it is also extremely alarming. What further proof do we need than this to show that islam is bent upon not only taking over the entire world, but erasing all other cultures in the process!

[[ Pinocchio, Tom Sawyer and other characters have been converted to Islam in new versions of 100 classic stories on the Turkish school curriculum.

"Give me some bread, for Allah's sake," Pinocchio says to Geppetto, his maker, in a book stamped with the crest of the ministry of education.

"Thanks be to Allah," the puppet says later.

In The Three Musketeers, D'Artagnan is told that he cannot visit Aramis. The reason would surprise the author, Alexandre Dumas.

An old woman explains: "He is surrounded by men of religion. He converted to Islam after his illness."

Tom Sawyer may always have shirked his homework, but he is more conscientious in learning his Islamic prayers. He is given a "special treat" for learning the Arabic words.

Pollyanna, seen by some as the embodiment of Christian forgiveness, says that she believes in the end of the world as predicted in the Koran.

Heidi, the Swiss orphan girl in the tale by Johanna Spyri, is told that praying to Allah will help her to relax.

Several more books have been altered, including La Fontaine's fables and Victor Hugo's Les Miserables

Please keep in mind that this is in the "moderate" muslim country of Turkey.

Pinocchio And Friends Converted To Islam

I hope Homer Simpson is ready to convert or die.

Can the world wake-up now...? Please...??

Noooo!!! Anything But The Beer!!!!!!

Pop a blood-pressure pill and then read this.

Beer Company Supports Illegal Immigration

Here's my letter to them:

Dear Miller,

I am a longtime, loyal customer who is very upset that you have chosen to support the criminal cause of illegal immigration.

Our nation's infrastructure is being overwhelmed and destroyed by insanely large numbers of illegal immigrants. Additionally, this "open borders" mentality would lead to a drastic increase in terrorism. This is a national security issue and you are on the wrong side of it.

It hurts me to give up my beloved Miller Lite and Foster's... but it would hurt me far worse to continue to contribute to any company that is helping in the destruction of America. I intend to encourage as many people as possible to join me in this boycott.

Please let me know if you decide to once again respect America's sovereignty and the rule of law and order. At that time- provided that it is very soon and before any further damage is done by your support of the criminals- I will celebrate most heartily with a very cold Miller Lite and/or Foster's (most likely "and").

Sincerely,

Kurt G.

P.S. Your support for criminal behavior definitely does not "taste great."

HERE are some more sample letters to Miller. I strongly suggest you all write one, too.

You Go, Mate!!!

Often forgotten (on purpose, no doubt) in the media, our staunch allies in Australia are people of character and strength. John Howard is one of my favorite world leaders- he always tells it like it is, and he's absolutely unfazed by liberal critiques of his words and policies.

Recently, he said that immigrants needed to conform to Australian values, learn the language, and treat women with respect. Common sense stuff, right? Well, if you've been paying attention, you will know that these comments absolutely enraged the muslims... you would think that he called their mothers ugly or something. Anyway, the seething ensued and then the threats of how his comments will cause more terrorism (?? Yeah... that one gave me a headache, too), and all the rest of the media supported backlash against a good man who spoke the truth.

Mr. Howard's answer to the whiners?

[[ "I don't apologise," he told reporters.

"I think they are missing the point and the point is that I don't care and the Australian people don't care where people come from.

"There's a small section of the Islamic population which is unwilling to integrate and I have said generally all migrants ... they have to integrate."

Wow. That probably didn't go over too well. Go now and read the rest to see more of the fun.

Our Own Fault

-
Here is a very frank discussion on how our medieval islamofascist enemy is taking great advantage of our own ineptitude.

There is no disputing the facts put forth here... which is exactly why there will be much disputing from the DFL. Here's a nice opening:

[[ Contrary to generally received opinion, the West is not today under siege from Muslim fanatics because of a resurgence of Islam, but because of the West's own moral and intellectual decline. Even Osama bin Laden knows this. The West invites attack, and the enemy's strategy in attacking is paradoxically to hide his own weakness.

If you look at the enemy, even where he has concentrated his best forces in Afghanistan, Iraq, and now Lebanon, you see something unimpressive. Everything that enemy has to fight with, is a by-product of Western industry and invention. The adaptations are sometimes clever, in a psychopathic way, but they are more psychopathic than clever.
]]

True. Every word of it. Here is my favorite part of the column... it is so simple, and yet so damn true:

[[ We have a problem in us, not in them. It is the recovery of our own sense of what we are, what we believe, and what we are about, that would defeat Afghan cave-dwellers and shrieking ayatollahs fairly quickly.

In a column this last week, on the current threat from Iran and its proxies, I asked a naïve, simple question that I will repeat. I observed that no counter-threats have been tabled, nor lines drawn in the diplomatic sandboxes of the West. I asked, why not? Why not say plainly, "If you do this, we will do that."

It is this inability to deal forthrightly with madmen, that suggests we have lost too many of our own marbles. For why should a man with a gun fear a man with a stick?

Go read it all... please.
