The Last Word (for now)

Wow-- time does fly, doesn't it? Two years ago today saw the humble beginning of this very humble site. I think I related the origin before... how my daughter Rachel and I came up with the idea after a somewhat acrimonious "discussion" with some family members who are stuck in the old "union democrat" paradigm. We decided that we had to make a difference and try to educate and help bring knowledge to the ignorant and all that. Two years...

In that time, I have spouted off on just about every subject under the sun. I have also met many great people who have shown me exactly what I needed to see: that I was not alone out here. I've been linked to by Michelle Malkin and Charles from Little Green Footballs-- giving this site massive waves of incoming traffic.

Someone with more time would have been in a position to press that advantage and really turn this into a big site. Of that, I am sure. Sadly, I was not that person. Time is the one thing I have been running thin on for a while now. For a long time, I posted lengthy entries and did more than just link to stories. My inner voice, though, finally won out and I returned to my one, true calling. Which brings us to today's post.

It is time for me to put this site on hiatus so that I can spend any and all extra time I have on my books. The impetus for this was my being struck by a bolt of... something from above. Oddly enough, it was Rachel with me again when I had the revelation. That was last December, and since then I have written and now published the story that had to be told. I had already finished my other novel-- one with a completely different subject, by the way-- but it had to take a backseat to this one.

It is called "Guardian Dear" and it is about angels and love and a whole lot more. I will be spending all my time now on publicizing this one and also finishing/polishing my other one... plus, I have about five more waiting to come out. Obviously, it is time for me to pursue this writing thing.

So... here we are. I want to say a huge thank you to those of you who have been with me all along. Also, to those of you who came along later and hung around. I appreciate all the comments and emails and good energy. I would love to stay in touch with all of you, so please don't be strangers. Oh, and I will probably find some time in the future to post something here-- so, if you want me to notify you of such happenings, then just send me an email now telling me so.

Here is a good, old Kentucky Conservative-- the Honorable Jim Bunning-- giving it to the dumocrats and their surrender schemes.

What Now For Iraq?

As the anti-American forces in Congress prepare for another full-court-press against our military, the President seems to be ready to stand up to them again. The question is, how much of this can our war effort take? Answer: not much more.

It is not just my never-humble opinion that the dumocrats have seriously degraded our war effort. It is painfully obvious that they have given the greatest wartime intangible to our enemy: hope. As Ralph Peters says in his latest column:

[[ EVEN as our troops make serious progress against al-Qaeda-in-Iraq and other extremists, Congress - including Republican members - is sending the terrorists a message: "Don't lose heart, we'll save you!" ]]

As stated above, the "surge" has yielded much progress... but the media and Congressional dumocrats will not succumb to that truth. Instead, they will continue to undermine our President-- and subsequently our military-- in every way possible.

This article could do more for the world than all the Live Earth concerts combined... if only people would read it. Yes, it is stuffed (and I mean STUFFED) with science-talk and facts and figures and charts... but it is also one of the most succinct and complete arguments for common sense that I have ever read.

Please take the time to read this and, for goodness' sake, share it. The next time you are in a "discussion" with one of our enlightened lefty friends, you can use this to wake them up. Although... I must admit that since they are mostly immune to facts, you would probably have better luck printing it off, rolling it up, and hitting them on the nose with it.

This kind of story always comes as such a surprise to the lefties. They just can't seem to wrap their little brains around the fact that their buddies in places like Cuba, Syria, Venezuala, and China are serious thugs.

Here's an associated (with terrorists) press story about China executing a government official for being corrupt. Let's deconstruct one especially mind-boggling sentence, shall we?

[[ His death sentence was unusually heavy even for China, believed to carry out more court-ordered executions than all other nations combined, and indicates the leadership's determination to confront the country's dire product safety record. ]]

In that one sentence, the writer expressed her shock that China would do this ("unusually heavy..."), tried to defend the communist regime with faint protective words ("believed to carry out..."), and then wraps up by deciding that it was a good effort by the regime to fix a serious problem ("...the leadership's determination to confront...").

It is surreal. Allow me to translate what she really meant:

"The valiant People's government had to perform this very rare execution to prove their ultimate committment to the People."

Enemies Within

These two stories are seemingly unrelated.

One is about left-wing extremist Mexican "activists" who want all white people to be deported to Europe so that they can have "their" country back.

The other is another tale of the usual whining from CAIR... this time about Conservative comments after the U.K. terrorist attacks. The evil Conservative's comments are "incitement," you see, and must be addressed.

What these stories show is that there are real, true enemies residing right here in our own country. Enemies who are fanatically committed to the overthrow of our government and our way of life. This is not my supposition... it is a very clear and very obvious fact. No sane person could argue the point in any lucid way... and yet...

Why won't the liberals see this? Why won't they join us in trying to protect our country from these threats? These are more than just rhetorical questions. These questions are the very heart of what is wrong in America now. We have a substantial portion of our population that does not see the above stories as a problem.
