Even More

-
An anonymous Christian-bashing apologist for the islamofascists left a great comment on my previous post. Rather than reply there, I thought I'd share for everyone.

Here is his/her last paragraph:

--"Obviously, I have little hope that my thoughts will open up your mind. So continue to judge billions of the world's people by a handful of their worst examples. But I do urge you, before condemning another person's Scripture and practices, to examine your own tradition, as well as your own personal prejudices. IIRC, Jesus of Nazareth taught us to be radically patient, pacifist, and kind-spirited. Consider that as you encourage the casting of stones. "--

Now, I'll reply:

Dear anonymous Christian-bashing apologist for the head-choppers;

The ludicrous irony of your closing sentence is, no doubt, lost on you. Here's a clue:

Mother Of Two Faces Death By Stoning

Go ahead... read the whole, sickening thing... and then come back and explain how a "handful of their worst examples" is doing all of this. Or... just turn a blind eye to it, as you have been for years.

As you struggle to blame America and Christianity for all things... and as you attempt, time and time again, to make an absolutely ridiculous moral equivalence between the barbaric savages of islam and ANY modern Christian... and as you smirk in your self-righteous contempt for peaceful, God-fearing Christians... in all that, I hope you are able to remember how much you believe the things you say when the "holy-warriors" come to call for your "conversion."

Open MY mind?? I pray that your mind, and your eyes, will open- before it is too late for us all. We will need all the help we can get... even from one such as you... as we face this open warfare of civilization versus evil.

Thanks for taking the time to comment. Please have a great evening.

More Of It

-
Yesterday's topic of the Fox journalists brought much commenting... and got me a bit up in arms about the seemingly obvious fact that islam is THE problem in our world. Believe it or not, there are still people trying to question that.

Fortuitously, the great Mark Steyn has weighed in and said with his trademark eloquence what others cannot.

[[ But Centanni and Wiig’s brief interlude as practicing Muslims is revealing in a larger sense. Ever since 9/11, the western multicultural mindset has been desperately trying to swaddle Islam within the fluffy quilt of diversity. It’s “just” another religion, like the Congregationalists and Episcopalians. To be sure, it’s got a few hotheads, but haven’t we all? Sticking with this line requires an awful lot of brushing under the carpet and there’s so much under there by now it looks like a broadloomed Himalayas. For a start, you can’t help noticing the traffic is mostly one-way: In Dr Mahathir’s country, where a long English Common Law tradition is under sustained pressure from sharia, a lady called Lina Joy is currently enduring death threats and a long legal battle because she committed the “crime” of converting from Islam to Catholicism.

Well, that’s Malaysia for you. But how about Michigan? Nazra Quraishi, a kindergarten teacher at a local Muslim school, wrote to The Lansing State Journal last month as follows:

“Islam is a guide for humanity, for all times, until the day of judgment. It is forbidden in Islam to convert to any other religion. The penalty is death. There is no disagreement about it. Islam is being embraced by people of other faiths all the time. They should know they can embrace Islam, but cannot get out. This rule is not made by Muslims; it is the supreme law of God.”

That seems clear enough, doesn’t it? In 1951, Eric Hoffer, America’s great longshoreman philosopher, wrote:

“The manner in which a mass movement starts out can also have an effect on the duration and mode of termination of the active phase of the movement.”

Christians and Muslims are both “people of the book.” But there’s a difference: Christianity started out as a religion of the weak, held by the lowliest in society and advanced by conversion and example, independent of the state. A distinction between religion and temporal power is embedded in its founding narratives. Compare the final words of Jesus to his disciples, on the day of his ascension …

“Ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”

… with the final words of Mohammed to his disciples:

“I was ordered to fight all men until they say, ‘There is no god but Allah.’”
]]

Yeah... that pretty much sums up what most of us simple folk have been trying to say.

Please read it all... I insist.

More here.

The terrorists had them "convert" to islam at gunpoint. Somewhere in their sick world, they will gain points for that. The "arab street" will believe it... and another chapter of "islam defeating the West" will be written.

Is it just me, or are these idiots like little children? "Say you believe in my pagan god or I'll chop off your head."

Also, it appears that Centanni developed a strong case of Stockholm Syndrome. Maybe after a few weeks in deprogramming, he'll realize that if they really were "beautiful and kind hearted people," then maybe they wouldn't have kidnapped him and had him hog-tied face down in a dark garage.

Also good to know that Centanni still has the "highest respect" for islam. You know, the same islam that incited the terrorists to snatch him.

That is exactly like saying:

"The Sheriff Department's close alliance with the Police Department is damaging its standing in the criminal world, organized crime's kingpin said in an interview published Saturday."

-

Stupid Questions

-
Do you think the DFL is losing sleep over the "torture" that was used to get information that ultimately stopped the terror plot in Britain?

How could anyone refute the necessity of it in that case?

Well... here ya go.

[[ If the allegation that the Pakistanis tortured Rashid Rauf turns out to be true, should we be grateful? Rauf is claimed to be one of the ring-leaders in the alleged plot to blow up at least five passenger jets over the Atlantic.

The information he is reported to have given to the Pakistan police was passed on to the authorities here, and is said to have been critical to the British police raids of 10 days ago. But Asma Jehangir, of the Pakistan Human Rights Commission, says "there is simply no doubt… no doubt at all" that Rauf was tortured to persuade him to reveal the information. No torture might have meant no information: and maybe five or more planes brought down.
]]

So, okay... they got the information through "torture." I guess that means it works sometimes, right? In any case, no one would even think of not using such life-saving information, however it was obtained... right?

Well... here ya go.

[[ One of their lordships summed it up succinctly: the Government "cannot be expected to close its eyes to information [obtained by torture] at the price of endangering the lives of its own citizens. Moral repugnance at torture does not require this".

That apparent ambivalence towards torture disturbs moral absolutists, who believe that renouncing such evidence is precisely what moral repugnance at torture does require. They argue that a willingness to use evidence obtained by torture is akin to complicity in it, and that it is better for a terrorist plot to go ahead and cause mass casualties than for it to be prevented by the use of torture.
]]

Anyway, here's the whole story- headlined by the aforementioned stupid question:

If Torture Could Stop A Terrorist Atrocity And Save Thousands Of Lives, Would It Really Be So Wrong?

Our Brave Cousins

-
These are the kind of men I would be proud to go to war with. The pragmatic service mentality that they express is something that used to be common in our country... but is now all too rare. Such is the price of the easy life and no real threat, I suppose.

Anyway, please read this... here's an excerpt that will grab you. It is an interview with two Israeli vets who lost limbs in the war. As far as I'm concerned, these guys are amazing and genuine heroes:

[[ ...people are worrying too much about things that are marginal... If you ask me, as I hear in your tone, whether I regret having lost my leg, of if I think it was for nothing - I say no, I don't think it was for nothing. I don't regret it for a second. It's not like there's some kind of [political debate] here... I would go out again to war with the knowledge that it could happen to me. This is a war that we didn't start, and it was very difficult and crappy, but I, and all my friends, went out with the clear knowledge that it's - it's either me and Evyatar here - or, well, if it's not us, then - this is what we're in the army for. This is how we protect the borders of the State of Israel. I can't cry or complain to anyone and worry that I might get wounded when Katyushas are falling at home and people are getting killed. I mean, I'm a soldier now, and I give my three years; what can I do that they happened to fall on this war? I mean there are reservists who are in the same situation. If it's not us, then no one else will...

As far as whether the war was handled correctly, or not correctly - what, every soldier in the middle of the battle will start giving his opinion on whether the Chief of Staff or the Northern Commander is doing it right or wrong, and whether we should take this village or go a different way? It can't work that way.
...
Evyatar: The main thing is that we are alive, and therefore we have a lot to be grateful for; we now go forward. It's real nonsense - a hand, a leg, it's really not important. [In response to interviewer's raised eyebrows], yes, really nonsense.

Eran: Vanity of vanities, compared to people who lost their sons or their friends; total nonsense.

Evyatar: I mean, the bottom line is we're here!

Eran (chuckling): I'll have a prosthesis, and he'll learn to write with his left hand... No problem, I'll walk regularly; they told me that they have a prosthesis that I won't even limp [with] at all, and I hear that the Defense Ministry takes care of its wounded. I'm alive. And he'll learn to tie his shoes with his left hand, and it could be that his hand will even come back to normal -

Evyatar [smiling]: - with G'ds help -

Eran: I mean, people lost their friends, and their sons, and their husbands, and their fathers - so who are we at all to say anything...

Wow... may God bless them and their families.

Refreshing Attitude

-
I just love this column. It examines America's relationship with the rest of the world- with emphasis on "why they hate us." It is deliciously ironic that the author, Don Surber, speaks exactly as the vast majority of Americans do... and that is one reason for why the left-leaning world hates us.

Here is an example:

[[ But if other people hate us, that is their problem.

If people hate us so much that they want to kill us, that is our problem. We fix that not by figuring out why they hate us, but by figuring out how to kill them first
. ]]

Want more?

[[ In World War II, Americans cared little about why the Japanese or the Nazis hated us and wanted to kill us.

Americans thought instead about how to kill the Japanese and the Germans in mass quantities.

That worked.

What a novel thought.

Judicial Trends And Fancies

-
Well, now that another crusading, way-far-left judge has stepped in to save us from the evil Bush machine (HERE and HERE), we can all breath a sigh of relief.

Seriously, where would we be without these judges? I, for one, am grateful that they are watching out for my best interests. Oh, sure, a small consequence is that terrorists can plan and plot with impunity... but that is just a detail. The important thing is that my civil liberties remain intact.

Here is another case of a judge who just loves the good guys.

[[ A left-leaning judge has shocked Toronto Police with an order that uniformed cops could not testify in his court if they wear their guns.

Ontario Court Justice Melvyn Green told a flabbergasted cop witness in a routine impaired driving case Tuesday to "check (his gun) somewhere."

...Green told prosecutor Nenad Trbojevic to "tell" cop witnesses that he did not want "anybody testifying while wearing sidearms."

When Green was later advised by Trbojevic that on-duty uniform police officers are policy-bound to carry firearms, Green said while it "makes sense, I just do not see the need for them to wear them while they testify."

Please take notes, Congressman... this is how a former Marine Corps Officer handles it:

[[ "I am, of course, very concerned regarding any allegations surrounding misconduct by U.S. troops in Iraq," Kline wrote in his statement. "Such allegations must be taken seriously, but we should never rush to judgment before all the facts are known and the military criminal justice process is completed."

Kline, a member of the House Armed Services Committee, said he was briefed on Haditha by Marine Brig. Gen. John F. Kelly, the legislative assistant to the Marine commandant. At the time of the briefings, the official investigations were not complete, and Kline emphasized that "conclusions have not been reached."

"As a retired Colonel in the U.S. Marines, I am especially proud of the sacrifices our men and women make day in and day out, especially in combat situations," Kline wrote. "And as a Marine officer, I would never want to publicly insinuate, implicitly or explicitly, that I have prejudged what took place that day on the battlefield or afterwards." ]]

Got A Few Minutes?

-
Here is a great and fascinating read... former Bush advisor and speech writer Michael Gerson explains why now, more than ever, our policies in the Middle East have to be clear and consistent.

Mr. Gerson makes many excellent points in this article... all underscored by the fact that he was there on the inside. He tells how President Bush's mindset and policies on the Middle East were shaped by real-world events. I like that concept a whole lot better than the thought of policies being shaped by wishful thinking, etc.

Anyway:

[[ On Tuesday, September 11, 2001, while the president was on the road in Florida, I was working at home on a never-delivered speech announcing a long-forgotten initiative called Communities of Character. Warned by my deputy about the first attack, I headed by car toward the White House, neared the Pentagon and saw a plane in abnormally low descent—so low I could see the windows. Turned around by the police on the highway and sent home, I was finally able to call my evacuated staff at (of all places) the D.C. offices of Chrysler. Then came the first speech to the nation, with too much sentiment, not enough resolve and the president stiff and small. On Friday, a quiet motorcade in the rain to the National Cathedral; and the president filling his office completely; and the whole of official Washington singing, "Glory, glory, hallelujah. His truth is marching on." Starting in those days, I felt not merely part of an administration, but part of a story; a noble story, but with a happy ending by no means assured.

From those events, President Bush drew a fixed conclusion: as long as the Middle East remains a bitter and backward mess, America will not be secure. Dictators in that region survive by finding scapegoats for their failures—feeding conspiracy theories about Americans and Jews—and use religious groups to destroy reformers and democrats. Oil money strengthens elites, buys rockets, funds research into weapons of mass destruction, builds radical schools across Africa and Asia and finds its way to terrorist organizations. Terrorist organizers exploit the humiliated and hopeless—channeling their search for meaning into acts of murder—and plot, as London 2006 proves, to surpass the mad ambitions of 9/11

VDH Speaks

-
The great Victor Davis Hanson has a great column on the insane restraints put upon America in its battles and wars.

[[ Prior to September 11, the general consensus was that conventional Middle East armies were paper tigers and that their terrorist alternatives were best dealt with by bombing them from a distance — as in Lebanon, Afghanistan, Iraq, east Africa, etc. — and then letting them sort out their own rubble.

Then following 9/11, the West adopted a necessary change in strategy that involved regime change and the need to win “hearts and minds” to ensure something better was established in place of the deposed dictator or theocrat. That necessitated close engagements with terrorists in their favored urban landscape. After the last four years, we have learned just how difficult that struggle can be, especially in light of the type of weapons $500 billion in Middle East windfall petroleum profits can buy, when oil went from $20 a barrel to almost $80 over the last few years. To best deal with certain difficulties we’ve encountered in these battles thus far, perhaps the United States should adopt the following set of surreal rules of war.

Crazy. The Brits foiled the terrorist plots by using techniques that the aclu and others here are against. In fact, if the DFL had its way, those terrorists would have succeeded wildly.

Here's a great editorial on it:

[[ "This wasn't supposed to happen today," a U.S. official told the Washington Post of the arrests and terror alert. "It was supposed to happen several days from now. We hear the British lost track of one or two guys. They had to move." Meanwhile, British antiterrorism chief Peter Clarke said at a news conference that the plot was foiled because "a large number of people" had been under surveillance, with police monitoring "spending, travel and communications."

Let's emphasize that again: The plot was foiled because a large number of people were under surveillance concerning their spending, travel and communications. Which leads us to wonder if Scotland Yard would have succeeded if the ACLU or the New York Times had first learned the details of such surveillance programs.

Alert reader Annette sent me this one... care to guess what these guys might have been up to?

Foreign Man Being Held For Feds

Yes, you read it correctly... they let one of the men go, and did not even confiscate the questionable items. Go figure...

Iran's End Game?

-
Here's an intriguing article that should chill you to the marrow. The lunatics in charge of Iran are surely working on some large scale plan... and have not been shy about calling for the complete destruction of Israel (and, of course, America, too). It is entirely possible that they are working toward triggering a huge confrontation that will bring a savior-type being back to Earth to kill all of us.

[[ President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in Iran and the Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr in Iraq are both devout believers in the "Imam" of Shia Islam. Also known as "Imam Mehdi" - hence the name of Sadr's militia, the Mehdi Army - he was the 12th grandson of the Prophet Muhammad. According to certain branches of Shia Islam, the return of the "hidden Imam" must be prepared by his followers, in a particular sequence of events. Chaos and rampant violence in the region are supposed to be among signs leading to the main battle in which the Imam will return to lead Shiites to victory. ]]

Read the whole thing (HERE)... and then sleep tight.

Disorderly Conduct

-
Mental disorder, that is.

Here's a good one from Jerry's site (Techniguy).

It's a nice reminder, using simple logic, that our friends on the left are quite detached from reality.

The Fog Of Liberalism: A Mental Disorder?

(Thanks for the tip, Dennis.)

Words Can't Measure...

...something like this.

“…Risking his life to protect his Marines,”

Yep... there is another Marine who Murtha says can't win this war.

Semper Fi, Captain Schauble, Sir!!

Hypocrites 'R' Them

-
Gotta love the filthy rich liberals who attack the "wealthy." It is hard to parody these people.

Lieberman Rival Attacks Wal-Mart, But Owns Stock

It will be funny to see the reaction... "I didn't realize..." or "Our accountant has been fired..." or maybe "We forgot to sell that stock..."

Anyway, it doesn't matter. The media and the liberals will not care about this transgression because the man is righteous- he is against the war, damnit!

More disgusting hypocrisy...

Hmmm...

-
...this is mighty suspicious.

Earth Was Hotter In 1930

Do they mean to say that the Earth goes through cycles... heats up, cools a bit, heats up, etc.? That is absurd! As we all know, al gore said...

Wait!! I know! To throw off the clever gore-bots, Halliburton and George W. traveled back in a time machine and turned up the big global-warm-a-tron...

-

***** --- UPDATE --- *****

Those fiends with their time machine are at it again!!

The highest temperature recorded anywhere on Earth was in Aziziyah, Libya, in September of 1922 – 136 degrees Fahrenheit.

The highest temperature recorded in the United States was in Death Valley, Calif., in July of 1913 – 134 degrees Fahrenheit.

A Child Who Lived

-
The doctors said that the baby was "too far developed for an abortion to be performed..."

Imagine doctors in this country making such a choice... they would be vilified, tarred, and feathered.

Child Saved From Death By Doctors' Refusal To Abort

See? It really is not that hard to make the right choice... all you need is a small amount of moral clarity.

Counter-Attack!

-
Am back. I hope you all were good while I was away...

Here's a nice one- I'm sure you've seen it, but I had to post it anyway.

Marine Sues Murtha

It. Is. About. Time.

As we used to say, "Ooh - F'ing - Rah!" (Sorry for the colorful metaphor.)
