My Sentiments Exactly

-
All I can say about this column is that I wish I had written it. Actually, I think I have... a piece here and a piece there, over time. In fact, many of us have had these thoughts and expressed these ideas... so it's good to see them spun together in a nice compact package that makes us want to cheer.

I especially like the opening paragraph- it brings into focus the reality that the liberals are actually getting away with calling things "bad" right now.

[[ So now the Democrats’ theme is “dangerous incompetence.” This is the soaring vision they offer the American people, as the nation records the 53rd month of growth since the end of the last recession in November 2001; as the S&P 500 is up 60 percent to 1300 from 800 at the start of 2003; as home ownership is reaching new highs; as reports come in that venture capitalists are throwing money at Silicon Valley startups again; and as President Bush’s riverboat gamble in the Middle East still hasn’t collapsed as predicted. ]]

Competence vs. Manliness

I only wish it had more on how complicit the media has been in this hiding of the truth... we need to raise the dialogue on that one, big time!

Civil War?

-
Nah... I don't think so. Neither does this Lieutenant Colonel who is currently stationed in Iraq.

This is a very nice breath of fresh air and reason. The biggest problem we have with the war effort today is that we are not hearing from the smart people who are actually on the ground over there. In fact, we hear a lot more about the opinions of some celebrity... what does that say about our media?

Anyway, here it is... read it and you'll feel smarter.

About that "Civil War" in Iraq

I was right, wasn't I?? You DO feel smarter now!

A Voice (Of Reason) In The Wilderness

-
How did you react when you saw this story?

Los Angeles: 500,000 Protest Immigration Enforcement

If you were like our media, you went way overboard. If you were like Mac Johnson, you cut through the hype on the surface and saw it for what it really is. This is a fantastically rational look at the issue.

You really should read it.

Another View On The Immigration Protests

The question is, will anyone who matters hear his voice and agree? I think some will... but the hyperbole is too tempting for those who will play politics with our national security.

This Is Why They Lose Elections...

-
...and also why they are seen as weaklings.

The reason we won WW-I and WW-II is precisely because we were willing to call something what it was- EVIL- and to attack it with overwhelming righteous force... knowing all along that we were doing the RIGHT thing. That is what good people do when they find true evil... they push with all their might to eradicate it, lest it overtake them and their families.

Today's liberals absolutely, positively cannot fathom such altruistic notions. It is beyond the scope of their advanced minds.

Madeleine Albright Says "Good Vs. Evil" Is Wrong Approach

Yes, I see it now... the truth is much more nuanced than simple concepts like Right and Wrong... Good and Evil... Up and Down. Far better to dig down and see why we would perceive someone as "evil" or "bad," when they are most likely just misunderstood. It's all about politics, you see... "power politics," as Albright puts it.

You know... I really think these people should be given another chance to be in power... don't you?

(Editor's note: The above statement was extreme sarcasm. Should those people ever actually regain power, the staff of this site will be seeking shelter in the nearest mountain hideaway.)

Don't Bother Thanking Us...

-
...we understand that you hate us and nothing we do can ever be right.

So, let's review: the islamofascists kidnap these people... then they brutally slaughter one of them... and have the others tied up in some craphole.

Enter the good guys- kicking in the door and ready to send any and all psychotic jihadis off to allah...

Hostages saved. Score one for the anti-evil forces... right?

Well... not so fast. Let's read the statement from the group that sent these hostages into harm's way in the first place, shall we?

[[ "We believe that the illegal occupation of Iraq by Multinational Forces is the root cause of the insecurity which led to this kidnapping and so much pain and suffering in Iraq," Pritchard said. ]]

Touching.

They are, of course, entitled to whatever form of insanity they choose. What really, REALLY upsets me, though, is that they call themselves "Christians."

More Loud Silence By Old Media

-
Very, very loud silence. Small wonder... what a disaster this could be for their contention that we attacked a peaceful and innocent country.

[[ Audiotapes of Saddam Hussein and his aides underscore the Bush administration's argument that Baghdad was determined to rebuild its arsenal of weapons of mass destruction once the international community had tired of inspections and left the Iraqi dictator alone.

In addition to the captured tapes, U.S. officials are analyzing thousands of pages of newly translated Iraqi documents that tell of Saddam seeking uranium from Africa in the mid-1990s.

The documents also speak of burying prohibited missiles, according to a government official familiar with the declassification process.

I Knew It!!!!!

-
From Drudge.

[[ Poll: Republicans Are Happier Than Democrats

The Pew Research Center recently updated a question about happiness that the National Opinion Research Center at the University of Chicago has been asking since 1972.

In every asking of the question, ROLL CALL reports, Republicans have been happier than Democrats.

Republicans tend to be better off than Democrats, and that is one explanation for the happiness gap. But when the researchers controlled for household income, Republicans at all income levels were happier than Democrats at those same income levels.

As for ideology, conservative Republicans were happier than conservative Democrats, and moderate to liberal Republicans were happier than comparable Democrats.
]]

Big surprise... people who hate, hate, hate and cry, cry, cry are not as happy as people who work and try to uphold things they believe in. I'm shocked!

Bravo Zulu To These Ladies!

Well, at least a foreign news source thought this was worthy of reporting. Imagine if clinton were still in power- the headlines here would be all about how he "empowers" women.

Am getting very sick of the extreme hypocrisy.

My favorite quote from one of the ladies is this:

[[ “I always wanted to be part of something bigger than me. It didn’t matter if it was a brotherhood or a sisterhood.” ]]

Imagine that... actually thinking that there is something bigger than one's own self.

He Who Laughs At Himself...

-
...is real.

You can tell a lot about someone by their sense of humor. For example, if a person likes to laugh at the misfortune or shortcomings of others, you can infer that he/she is a jerk... and if a person can laugh at himself/herself, you can infer that he/she is a REAL person- capable of honest self reflection and not overly serious about their own importance.

This is one of the critical differences between most liberals and most Conservatives. The latter group can- and does, in most cases- laugh at itself. The former groups is so paralyzed with political correctness and hatred that they can not and will not laugh at anything except the bad things that happen to Conservatives.

Here's some proof.

(Disclaimer: I never said all of the jokes were funny... only that they were told.)

Now Hear This!

-
The following is a MUST read- it is very good and very hard-hitting (the truth often is). Please pass it around to any and all... and let's get this issue out in the open so people can actually see it for what it is.

The implicit "we support the troops" thing has grown tiresome... especially from those who clearly do NOT support our uniformed people.

[[ The most telling intellectual progress about Vietnam made on campus for almost 40 years has been in revisionism. “We opposed the war, but supported the troops,” they tell us now. Oh, really? Then I suppose the taunts of “baby killer,” “murderer,” and “pigs” were all an exercise in intellectual protest. And the paper bags of dog crap tossed over fences at wounded servicemen lying outside on stretchers at Travis Air Force in California were, like the borrowed medals John Kerry tossed over the White House fence, simply “an expression of discontent.” Whatever, their “support” was too subtle, to “nuanced” for this returning GI to perceive.

Liberals hated soldiers then and still do. At the Clintons’ first inaugural, newly hired staffers sneered at the Air Force fighter jets flying overhead until one suddenly said, “Hey, wait a minute. Those are ours now!” Their view of the military has always been an “us versus them” paradigm. No less now than at the height of the Vietnam days when crowds chanted “Ho, Ho, Ho Chi Minh, the NLF is going to win!” and waved Viet Cong flags at the troops.

...

Whenever liberals dislike or distrust anything they label it as stupid. Hence Ronald Reagan was a buffoon, Bush a moron, and today’s soldiers are called ignorant, incompetent, and incapable of finding employment anywhere other than in a military establishment that will recruit anything with a pulse as long as it will kill
{Some of us know that this isn't true- ed.}. It is the ultimate in sophomoric snobbery from a bunch of moral and physical cowards who are content to slop at the trough of freedom that is filled by the blood and sweat of patriots they despise.
]]

Wow... that last sentence is going up on my wall.

Please read the whole thing... and share it.

Don't Mess With The Tribes

-
Well, it looks like the murderous scum in Iraq have a new enemy on their hands. The "enough is enough" mentality is a strong one- if rather delayed in coming. Honestly, I believe that more and more people world-wide are waking up to the islamofascists... it just takes a lot of time for some people.

Iraqi Tribes Strike Back

Probably the biggest surprise here is that the washington post saw fit to run this story. That seriously stunned me. Of course, they still call them "insurgents" instead of terrorists... even though the tribesmen they quote have no such problem in calling the scum what they are.

Oscar Time In Wacky Liberal Land

-
Okay, you just have to love the opening paragraph:

[[ I think Crash, which depicts Los Angeles as a segregated city of angry racists, has a good chance to win Best Picture at the Academy Awards on Sunday — if the Academy decides the big message they want to send this year is "America Is Racist." On the other hand, "America Is Homophobic" is always a popular Oscars message too (remember Philadelphia?) as well as more buzzworthy right now. So probably the smart money should be on Brokeback Mountain. ]]

From The "Get Your Story Straight" Files

-
Everyone loves a good sitcom... remember the great fun of watching Lucy and Ricky, and how every week there was some madcap misunderstanding which led to zany hilarity?

Here's a modern version of it:

[[ There was no Clinton pillow talk over the former first couple's split on the Dubai port deal - because the ex-president's lips were sealed.

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton revealed yesterday that her husband never confided in her that he was advising Dubai leaders on how to ease opposition to the deal in Congress - where she's been one of its loudest critics.

The surprising turn came yesterday when the senator was asked if her husband had ever mentioned that he was helping officials in charge of the state-owned Dubai Ports World.

She said he hadn't - then quickly tried to take back the admission, saying, "That's . . . I mean, as far as I know, he supports my position and has said so publicly."

Bill Clinton has hailed Dubai as "a good ally to America [that is] trying to build a new Middle East, they really are" - all while agreeing that congressional critics have a legitimate gripe.

The former first lady has been among the most vocal congressional bashers of the Bush administration-backed $6.8 billion sale, a deal that includes commercial operations at New York's port and five other major U.S. harbors.

And she's the co-author of legislation that aims to ban the sale of firms that operate U.S. ports to companies owned by foreign governments.

"The president - my husband - supports that position," she insisted. "It is a position that is rooted in legitimate concerns about security and whether or not our country should be turning over critical infrastructure like our ports to any foreign government-owned entity."

But news reports this week seem to show her husband singing a decidedly different tune in private talks with United Arab Emirates leaders two weeks ago - persuading them to go along with a 45-day investigation into the sale to appease congress.

Not quite, says Bill Clinton's spokesman, Jay Carson.

"He took one phone call from them, told them he didn't know the details of the deal," Carson said. "He's fully in line with Sen. Clinton's legislation on this."

Bill Clinton, whose aides insist that he agrees with his wife in preferring that no U.S. port be controlled by companies owned by foreign governments, has said, "I have a very high opinion of the UAE and Dubai, in particular."

And the UAE sure likes him. It shelled out a total of $600,000 for him to give speeches there in 2002 and 2005. And Dubai chipped in $1 million to the Clinton Presidential Library in Little Rock, Ark.

Meanwhile yesterday, the head of Israel's largest shipping firm, Zim Integrated Shipping Services, sent Sen. Clinton a letter strongly backing the Dubai port deal.

Zim officials noted that Dubai has top-notch security and that it has routinely worked with Israeli companies - despite the fact that the UAE formally subscribes to an Arab boycott of Israel. ]]

I admit that the title of the article was the main reason I read it. I also loved the Freudian (?) slip she makes by calling Mr. Bill "The President"... then corrects it immediately. What the heck is up with that??

The Long War

-
William Kristol reminds us that things are becoming more dire by the day. This is a very important column... because it speaks to the big picture, which is something many are not seeing.

[[ From Copenhagen to Samara, the radical Islamists are on the offensive. From Tehran to Damascus, the dictators are trying to regain the upper hand in the Middle East. From Moscow to Beijing, the enemies of liberal democracy are working to weaken the United States. Across the world, the forces of terror and tyranny are fighting back. Are we up to the challenge? ]]

Some of us are... most, sadly, are definitely not.
