Weekend Anarchy Rant

-
By now, you've read my previous post... and have learned something about the cost of illegal aliens. Now we need to talk about this seditionist "boycott" thing.

I apologize in advance for the uncivilized things I'm going to say... but this really is too much.

In the spirit of "if you can't beat them, join them," the education system caves thusly:

[[ Organizers of the May Day work stoppage and protest expect that America’s big cities will come to a stop on Monday as Latinos walk off their jobs and skip school. Teachers’ unions in urban areas have advocated that children should not be held to account for being truant. Confirming this, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Unified School District, with three-quarters of a million children, said that school principals have been advised to join the protests to keep order among the children who may walk out. ]]

Not to be outdone, the flaming moronically hypocritical moonbat convergence that calls itself the California democrat party, adds their own flavor to the menu:

[[ In California on Thursday, the state senate passed a resolution recognizing "The Great American Boycott of 2006," saying it would educate the United States about the contributions made by immigrants. The measure passed 24-13 along party lines with dissenting Republicans arguing that it sanctioned lawbreaking and encouraged children to skip school. ]]

"Educating the United States..." Is THAT what all this is about? Hmmm... well, I guess we should say thank you to the California moonbats... they are only thinking of our best interests. Ummm... I guess...

[[ In spite of the pleas by Mayor Villaraigosa and Cardinal Mahony, the Democrat leaders of the California State Assembly have decided to call their own boycott for May 1, canceling legislative session that day in deference to the protests. But, showing that their commitment only goes so far, they declared Monday a “check-in” day so as not to forfeit their $459 tax-free per diem for the weekend and Monday. A true legislative walkout would have led to lawmakers losing per diem pay for Saturday and Sunday, as well as Monday since spending more than three consecutive days away from the Capitol triggers a halt in the highly-prized extra pay. ]]

Here's a nice description of these creatures and their destructive behavior:

[[ The California Legislature is known for its fiscally irresponsible giveaways to undocumented immigrants. Over the past five years, the Legislature has approved drivers’ licenses, free in-state tuition benefits, and education and medical services for illegal immigrants. The cost to California of illegal immigration may reach more than $10.5 billion annually. ]]

Anyway, what do all these people want? Just everything, of course:

[[ Upwards of 3 million people might protest in Los Angeles alone, according to union organizer Jorge Rodriguez who said, “We want full amnesty, full legalization for anybody who is here (illegally).” ]]

You want full legalization? Full "amnesty"?? For "anybody" who is here illegally??? Is that all???? Would you like some F'ing fries with that, Jorge????? You know, the kind made with potatoes that only illegals will pick...

California democrats Cancel Work, But Keep Pay

May 1st "Boycott" Aims To "Close" U.S. Cities

I don't think any of this is funny anymore.

There is nothing amusing about potentially millions of C R I M I N A L S trying to close down our nation and demanding that they be absolved of their crimes and given a golden freaking ticket to have whatever the f*** they want!!!

There is nothing even slightly droll about our own ELECTED FREAKING OFFICIALS condoning this debacle!!

Okay, time-out... here... go and read THIS now... then come back, okay?

Okay... now we understand what is at stake, right?

You know whose fault this is? Do you???

It is our own fault. Yours and mine. We let this happen. This is, plain and simple, what we deserve. We have created- or allowed others to create- a gigantic system of entitlement and political correctness that has blossomed into more than most anyone could have imagined... and now it is going to eat us all- unless we find a way to stop it RIGHT FREAKING NOW!

That starts with a few simple declarative sentences:

1) No, Jorge... there will be no amnesty- no golden ticket. You can still have the fries, though... but you have to pay for them yourself. Now, get back to work or you will be fired.

2) Principles, get your politically correct asses back into your schools.

3) Children, go to school- NOW.

4) democrat legislators, get back to work- we are not paying you to support sedition... and, by the way, start packing- you are D O N E come next election day.

5) All criminals of all types, go to jail. Go directly to jail. That's it.

6) President Bush, come back to the light.

Until and unless we- ALL OF US- say these things... we are in serious, dire trouble.

Oh, and by the way, you-know-who is now jumping on board with Jorge and the gang (courtesy of Little Green Footballs).

That's not scary at all, right?

Scary Math

-
Wow. According to this article, Los Angeles County is in it for about ~~Dr. Evil pinky to side of mouth~~ ONE BILLION DOLLARS (that's "Billion" with a "B") per year.

In what, you ask? In the illegal immigrant payout, of course.

Apparently, that's the cost for the county, including: welfare for the children of illegals, health care, social services, etc.

That's a lot of money... TAXPAYER money.

I can't imagine why some people are getting so spun-up about the illegal issue.

Fortunately, this helpful article includes this "unbiased" disclaimer:

[[ Some in the immigration debate say illegal immigrants are a drain on public coffers. Others say illegal immigrants pay more in taxes than they receive in services. ]]

Allow me to re-phrase that (my changes underlined):

"The cold, hard facts in the immigration debate prove that illegal immigrants are a HUGE drain on public coffers. Others are liberal morons who can't add."

Again... that's "BILLION" with a "B."

No Wonder Liberals Like Them

-
I nearly started ranting about the "pro-immigration" day thing coming on Monday... but, after listening to a news report this morning, it is way, WAY too raw in my brain right now-- and all that would come out would be invectives and lots of exclamation points (which, Frank J. of IMAO tells us in a very funny piece, are violent in and of themselves). We would all be better served if I waited a while on that one.

So... instead let's take a look at the situation with the terrorist gang Hamas and their new "government," shall we?

Did you know that the palestinian "government" has over 165,000 "civil servants"...? And that over 25 percent of the population there is in government "employment"...? And that they haven't been paid since February, because America and other countries have decided to stop funding terrorism...?

Is it shocking to learn that the terrorist government "in charge" of the palestinians is completely dependent upon outside financial aid? There is virtually nothing self-sustaining about it. There is no industry (except terror, of course). There is nothing.

So... when the West decides to do the right thing and NOT fund the terrorist government, the whole area threatens to collapse.

The arab league and other entities around the world are wringing their hands and trying to find ways out of this mess.

arab league Vows To Give hamas Funds

I have a suggestion for anyone over there willing to hear it: Stop electing terrorists to run your governments and we'll start helping you again.

I'm just saying.

-
Are you surprised by this?

The moron, hypocritical, traitorous liberals are DEFENDING this woman who, if guilty as charged, BETRAYED OUR COUNTRY.

This mini-column in the NY Post by Arnold Ahlert hits it right, smack on the head.

[[ ONE of the most pressing questions for the 2006 elections is whether Democrats can be trusted with national security. If their collective reaction to the CIA's firing of Mary McCarthy is any indication, the answer is a resounding no.

McCarthy was fired for leaking classified information to a Washington Post reporter in direct violation of her oath of secrecy. That is, breaking the law - period. Yet in Democratic circles she is now called a "whistleblower" and a "heroine," even as she has seriously compromised CIA capabilities during wartime.

This affection for McCarthy may be influenced by the fact that the secrets she revealed are seen as damaging to the Bush administration. But if the Democrats' "litmus test" for heroism - as opposed to treason - is the revealing of top-secret information for political gain, they have proven once again their lust for power is more important than protecting the country.

No administration - Republican or Democrat - should have to worry about a "shadow government" of rogue CIA agents operating independently. That is what Democrats are really endorsing - whether they realize it or not.
]]

That's the whole piece... short, sweet, and completely accurate.

Tackling A Conundrum

-
Okay, surely we have all wondered about this one... why are so many Jewish Americans liberal? Yesterday's post about Joe Leiberman got me looking at this question... and it is a real head-scratcher.

It just doesn't make sense- the very nature of liberalism is antithetical to the things most ANY religious person believes. Then there is the nagging fact that the deranged lefties in America routinely support and defend the palestinian murderers who slaughter Jews. It always strikes me as supremely ironic (okay, that's a euphemism for something else) when I see Jewish people supporting liberal idiots who support islamo-fascists.

Anyway, Dennis Prager tries to answer the question of why Jews would be liberal... and does a pretty good job of it.

His reason number five resonates as especially telling. In explaining that Jewish liberals use politics as a kind of religion, Prager notes:

[[ "The big difference, however, is that the Christian believer acknowledges his Christianity is a belief, whereas the believer in liberalism views his belief as entirely the product of rational inquiry." ]]

This is sooooooo true of ALL liberals. When you look at it, you can plainly see that their politics ARE their religion (and, as Rush Limbaugh rightly said, abortion is their sacrament).

Why Are Jews Liberal?

Go, Joe!

-
It's amusing to watch the liberals chase their tails here. Sad, but amusing.

They have a man who is one of the last throwbacks to what the democratic party once was... and they are trying very hard to get rid of him.

If he does run (and win) as an independent, it could be good news for the good side- as it would then be easier for him to vote the right way.

Journalism 101 Just...

-
...ain't what it used to be.

From Accuracy In Media, here's a great column about the lack of actual journalism in today's world. In this piece, there is a very telling (and very true) part about how students are made to give their opinions before doing the research. I've seen this with my own kids.

The author contends that it is not simply that the media is against America, but that they just don't have the skills to properly report things.

I agree with half of that.

Why The American Media No Longer Even Knows HOW To Report "News"

As a positive example, here is a great article on the kind of news that SHOULD be reported all over America... but is not. It is the kind of reporting that America used to have during wartime.

Marine Says Iraq Catching On To Freedom

You do learn new things from this article... and you get an opinion from an American Marine who has been there and done that. You also get the truth- when the Marine says he would rather not go back to Iraq for a third combat tour... but will definitely do so if ordered. That is the truth.

She IS A Pistol

-
As "extreme" as some people like to paint her- Ann Coulter is very hard to not agree with most of the time. Once you learn to read her style and interpret her humor, you are hooked.

Here's a very good one on the immigration debacle. It opens thusly:

[[ This is the only country on Earth that thinks it's not sporting to consider our own interests in choosing immigrants. Try showing up in any other country on the planet, illiterate and penniless, and announcing: "I've seen pictures of your country and it looks great. I think I'd like to live here! Oh, and by the way, would you mind changing all your government and business phone messages, street signs and ballots into my native language? Thanks!" They would laugh you out of the country.

What seems not to have occurred to the "NO HUMAN BEING IS ILLEGAL" crowd is that this is a country, not a public park.
]]

It just gets better from there...

Telling It Like It Is

-
The great Thomas Sowell has a few words about the recent immigration riots.

[[ "Guest workers"? Did any of the strident speakers, with their in-your-face bombast in Spanish, sound like guests? Did they sound like people who wanted to become Americans?

Were they even asking for amnesty? They didn't sound like they were asking for anything. They sounded like they were telling. Demanding. Threatening. ]]

Yeah... that's because they WERE telling, demanding, and threatening.

It's working, too... because spineless politicians of both parties are caving- and caving fast.

Please read the whole column.

In Defense Of The Defense Chief

-
Like him or not, you just can't argue that Donald Rumsfeld has been in charge. He is a very intelligent, articulate man who brought a strong sense of leadership to the position of Defense Secretary. He came in trying to reform the military- to bring it into the new century. This was vitally necessary in order to face the new battlefields of today.

Anyway, now that a few disgruntled retired generals are taking pot-shots at Rummy, the media is drooling and slurping it up like a pack of starved dogs. While this is amusing in its own way, it does tend to lead the uninformed to believe that some of this crap is actually true. It is also extremely bad for the nation in a time of war... and is yet another example of us giving our enemies more ammunition against us.

Here's a great op-ed from retired Marine General Michael DeLong- who has firsthand knowledge of Mr. Rumsfeld's style. I'm surprised to find this in the ny times...

Battling (Evil) Lies And Myths

-
Here is a great piece that takes aim at some blatant untruths involving our military. The DFL (Deranged Far Left) has long used attacks against the military to further their causes... and it goes on today as strongly as ever.

Here are the five big ones that this column tackles:

[[ 1) The U.S. Defense Department is unable to recruit enough military personnel to defend the country and its interests abroad.
2) Critical combat arms units are not being filled.
3) The military will accept any warm body and any dull brain it can get its hands on.
4) American minorities (and those from lower income urban areas) are suffering disproportionately higher losses on the battlefield.
5) Female soldiers are fighting in offensive ground combat operations.

Snatching Defeat From.....

-
...the jaws of victory.

That's what liberals do best.

It is often said that they have to find bad news in order to succeed. In fact, they NEED things to be bad- so that they can tell us how bad things are... and how much we NEED them. It is simple math.

Here's their current standard-bearer, hillary clinton, talking about the red hot economy. She employs the time-honored practice known as "spin"... but usually, we think in terms of spinning something negative into something positive. It is truly a classic liberal symposium on making good news bad.

[[ "The economy is working really well for many people," Clinton, a New York Democrat, said today. "But if you look just over the horizon and below the surface there are some troubling issues." ]]

Yeah... and make sure you also focus on how no matter how good we feel now, we will all die someday... and how even though you just got a raise, some people still have lots more money than you do... and how the phone will ring and ruin a perfect bubble bath...

Here We Go

-
The time we have been dreading is upon us... hollywood is going after September 11th.

We are about to be hit with "project" after "project" on the disaster. Someone has determined that five years is the magic number- and it's now okay to "stylize" the horror.

For the record, I am very much opposed to anyone profiting from this... especially this soon. I suppose, though, that the box office will tell the tale. If people want to see it, then they will see it.

Another worry of mine is in how it will be portrayed. In case you did not know, oliver stone is making a big budget movie about 9-11. Hmmmm... that should be very real and very patriotic, don't you think? Overall, I would trust a classroom of third graders to get the story right before I'd trust hollywood. If there is a chance to politicize it... if there is an opportunity to throw in some Bush-bashing... if there is a moment where they can publicize the plight of the misunderstood jihadis- does anyone doubt they will seize it?

For years now, the old media has hidden the horrible pictures and videos... because it is, to them, "insensitive" to make people so angry- which is the emotion most of us feel very deeply when we see those images. The truth is, the media's muslim overlords have pushed hard to keep those things repressed... because it is very, very bad PR for the religion of peace.

Anyway... here's a good column on the whole cinematic assault on September Eleventh.

Who Hates Whom More Hatefully?

-
This is a very good topic... and one that we have more than covered in these parts a time or two.

It is painfully obvious to anyone even halfway objective that the vitriolic hate-speech comes almost entirely from the left side of the aisle. The reason for this is simple: the left actually hates anyone on the right. That is a sweeping generalization, but a mostly accurate one.

You see, their arguments are rooted in emotion- and that will always lead to a personal response to disagreement. They feel their points rather than actually believing them intellectually. That, too, will always lead to anger when challenged. The stimulus required to achieve hatred is, by its very nature, deeply personal... and that is the hallmark of the left. That is why their base is made up of so many hundreds of different "causes." It is all personal... and emotional... and "heartfelt"...

Another part of it is that they are, often literally, children (see this discussion)... and children are very much prone to outbursts and fits of anger when they don't get their way. Often, they can be heard to say things like "I hate you!!!"

Anyway, here is a good piece that tackles this fun subject.

Who Hates The Other More?

Ummm... they do. Duh.

A Good Man

-
In these times of war and strife, it is easy to forget about the simple things... the things that do not matter much on the cosmic scale.

Strange to remember a time when Presidents were actually honored and respected by most people... and America came together for things like baseball.

As much as President Bush has been under relentless fire, it is refreshing to see this story- completely devoid of politics. I am not a huge baseball fan, but this does take one's mind back to a simpler time... even if it really wasn't simpler...
